my uncle is 10 years old than me..about 10 years ago his wife left him and his 2 children for some guy she met online...whole other story, but my uncle totally stepped up to the plate, raised his kids, went back to school, got a great job, built them a new house and was a wonderful single dad to them both. Well, the youngest graduated high school last year and over the summer, my uncle who is a very private person announced to the family that he was engaged...so of course we were surprised and even a little more surprised when we found out she was 15 years younger than him (he's 45 and she's 29) AND the daughter of 2 very close friends of MY parents. But you know..she makes him happy and he deserves that after all these years..we all like her and so they got married last week.
So the funny thing I saw today, was I went to visit my grandparents (his parents) and my 84 y/o grandfather was sitting up in his house with a miniature chiuaua on his lap "babysitting" her for his new 29 year old daughter in law...I'm sorry but it totally cracked me up..my grandparents are old school southerners and to them dogs belong outside..but he was sure enough sitting there with that little dog on his lap..totally made my day
