So, what are everyone's plans for the week??

My kids are out of school all week (this is the first year the school system's done it this way). We are going to meet Deb this morning at Starbucks!!! Then we're going to run lots of errands getting ready for Thanksgiving. We recently bought a place up at a lake. My husband's been remodeling it and now we have to furnish it. So I'll be out buying food for Thanksgiving plus bedding, towels, soap, etc. But we'll be having Thanksgiving there this year, so that's exciting. We'll be staying Wednesday thru Sunday.

Today is Connor's birthday, so he and DH(who took the day off) are out having breakfast and going toy shopping. Little bit and I are baking cupcakes and wrapping presents, then we're all going to C's bowling party this afternoon and his favorite place, Olive Garden, for dinner.

Tomorrow/Wed we're doing crafts and cooking and doing some historical Thanksgiving stuff instead of school, then off to my Dad's for Thanksgiving Day. Friday is TREE DAY! We officially bid fall adieu...and welcome in the Christmas Season!

How neat to be going to some place special for your family! Have fun with Deb!

As always, we can never make set plans because of my hubbys job. He doesn't know what he's doing until the day before and who knows if he will be out of town or not. My kids have school M, T, & W then they are off Thanksgiving day, Friday, the weekend and Monday.

So, if Jamie happens to be off work we will be traveling to Brookville, PA where his mom's whole family lives. It is a big family and they rent their church hall and everyone brings a dish so there is always TONS of food. We will stay the day there come back home. And hopefully he will be off Friday too because I will then leave for Black Friday shopping with a group of friends. If he has to work then I might have my aunt come down to sit with the kids (they'll be sleeping anyway). LOL!

Then on Saturday we will be going to my mom's because my sister and her boyfriend are cooking.

That's about it.

That sounds like so much fun!

We're not planning much...Brian isn't off until Thurs/Fri and since my 2 sisters won't be coming home this year my Mom isn't planning on cooking..we're all going to my grandmother's instead on Thursday for dinner and then Friday we'll head down to Brian's parents. His sister and her family are coming down from Pennsylvania..we haven't seen them in over a year and they've never even met Ella so that'll be fun and Avery will get to play with his cousins. I got volunteered to make a birthday cake for DH's great aunt but other than that no much cooking for me this week.

I love living vicariously through all of you. Darcy, you guys always do such fun stuff!

Emma has school today and tomorrow. Tomorrow is her "Feast" at school and she is SO excited. They have been studying pilgrims and Indians and on Tuesday they are having a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. Wednesday we'll probably just hang out around the house. Thursday will be a busy day. We go to Darik's parent's house for lunch and then we'll go to my Aunt Kathy's house for dinner. I LOVE going there because I get to see my family that I don't see much throughout the year and um, the food is TO DIE FOR. This is the first year I'm not going shopping on Black Friday so we'll be staying home setting up the Christmas decorations and I'll probably do a little online shopping. Sunday we go for our family pictures. Phew. Busy week! :p

I'm going to Montreal by train to go see a concert tomorrow morning with a friend. I'm coming back Wednesday night. That should be fun and relaxing.

We already had Thanksgiving in Canada, so there's nothing special here. One of my DS does not have school Friday, but there is a cooking activity he is attending at school that day. Friday night, there is a Santa parade also that we want to attend. :)

My kidos are out of school all week which is very nice actually. I didn't get out of bed until 8:30 today!! :p Mon/Tues/Wed are just hang out at the house although I will probably put my kids to work on some household cleaning that has been needing to be done. Poor things.

Then Thursday morning we will head to my parents home and stay until Saturday. My sister and her family as well as one of my brothers and his family are going to be there as well. Thanksgiving is the one time of the year that we all get together. It is very, very nice. We cook together (even the guys), play games, stay up way too late and have a ton of laughs. This year we have a cappuccino machine that my Dad bought for my Mom as well as a commercial Belgian waffle maker. YUM!

Then after coming home on Saturday......everyone will just go back to their normal chillaxin' while me, I get online and catch up!

DS only has early dismissal on Wed, so our week is pretty normal. Need to go to the store to get my stuff to make pies and dessert for Thanksgiving. And we are going to my parents for Thanksgiving like every year. And on Friday a little bit of shopping with a friend while DH stays home with the kids
Then Friday afternoon we will put up our xmas tree :)

We're out of School for the week, Sean & I. Keira has preschool through Wednesday.

Today we're going to try and get the rest of the boxes out of the inside of our house and get the bedroom straighten out.

Thursday will be dinner at my inlaws, I'm actually happy & sad about it. It'll be fun to be with family for the holidays, but I'm not the one cooking dinner and I might be a little stuck up about it, but my Thanksgiving dinner rocks. And I just don't care for "Yankee Stuffing", I'd rather have some good "Southern Cornbread Dressing", and everything else I do, but I be ok I guess. LOL!

Friday I'm black friday shopping with my MIL & SIL. That evening we'll get the tree up.

And that's about it.

I'll be going grocery shopping with Lena this afternoon to prepare for our Thanksgiving dinner. Tristan is in school today and tomorrow and then off the rest of the week. Gabriel should be in school but he's sick :(. So I'll be trying to get him all better and everything ready for Thursday. I expect it to be a fairly quiet week actually. I love it :D!

Let's see today I was supposed to go to work but Molly is sick so I am taking her to the Doctor. Tuesday and Wednesday are work too although we will most likely have a half day on Wednesday since there is almost nothing going in courts (I'm an attorney). Thursday morning go down to Phoenix to be with the inlaws, drive back home on Friday evening and veg the rest of the weekend.

My kids are just off Thursday and Friday. We are having all the microsoft orphans over, people who don't go home for thanksgiving or who don't have family. Then we are headed up to Vancouver on Friday and Whistler on Sat and Sunday. We are taking our 2 dearest friends with us and their little girl. Should be really fun. We don't ski but I have told my husband that I really want to go on an actual sleigh ride with a horse pulling it through the snow complete with sleigh bells you know the works! :D Hopefully we will get to. It's quite expensive and I am not sure we can really spend that much. We will see. DH's Parents own time shares all over the place so we don't have to pay for the lodging which really makes it a cheap trip. So we will see.

My son has school today & tomorrow, and a half day Wednesday. Thursday we're all going to my mom's for Thanksgiving, and Friday morning we're bravely going out to Black Friday sales!!! Later Friday we're decorating for Christmas!!!
Friday is also my birthday, so I don't think we'll celebrate by going out to eat because of the holiday craziness- probably have a nice dinner at home to celebrate my 25th! :)

Hosting thanksgiving at my house. DH works on thanksgiving day so we have ours on Friday instead (It saves money, seeing as how I can't go out and shop till I drop). It's a fun holiday for us. My mom, a family friend and I split up the food duty and each make 4 or 5 things so it's not so bad. Last count was 13 people but there could be a couple more - we never really know. We make enough food to feed a small army, anyway. After dinner we play games and stuff. Fun times

It's a normal week for us here. JP has school through Wednesday, Andrew has work, Devin and I are doing our usual thing too. I'll make dinner Thursday, we'll enjoy leftovers on Friday and we'll just enjoy some quiet time together. Oh--Andrew wants to put the tree up on Friday, so I guess we'll do that too.

Mostly normal here too.. Abby's in school today and tomorrow. She'll go to daycare w/ J on wednesday since I have to work. Dinner at my aunt's on Thursday and then shopping on Friday!

Well we go to Ft Smith for Robotics Regionals competition next Friday...so we are trying to finish up projects that go with the robot, as well as tweaking the robot and driver practice... and I have 2 scrapbooks that need to be finished before next Friday. Plus I will be spending all Wednesday cooking...Thursday evening hopefully I will be scrapping...and hopefully all day Friday! Saturday MIGHT be robotics...but I am trying really hard as Spirit & Sportsmanship Mentor to have all our projects done TONIGHT so I can take the weekend off.

We don't do Thanksgiving here, but I'm looking forward to Thursday too 'cos DH's taken the day off and we're going Christmas shopping, then lunch and the movies (New Moon, finally!) - Alex is going to a friends house for tea so we have even longer to shop etc!

Please could someone tell me what Black Friday is about? Is it just the start of sales or is it something more significant?

oooh, if you do this will you share photos? That sounds so cool.

Black Friday is the most insane retail day of the year here in the states. Stores open at 2, 3, 4am with special "doorbuster" and "early bird" sales that only last a few hours. They also bait people into coming in for a super deal on something they only have three of in the whole store. I hated working it, I hate shopping it, but some people love it and make plans for it every year. Last year there were lines at Best Buy by noon on Thursday. Yes, overnight camping to get into the store at 4am. Oy!

Black Friday is the start of crazy sales (some better than others). It is called Black Friday because that is when traditionally most retailers "go into the Black" in their accounting records (i.e. started making a profit for the year) because of all of the Holiday Shopping.

ETA: oops, typing at the same time

we are heading to my in laws in Portland OR {5 hour drive} on Wed and will come on Sunday...I will be making the mad dash rush out and about by myself this year for black Friday :) my MIL said after what we went through last year at Old Navy, she is not going this year! I haven't had a chance to really visit with everyone since I got home from deployment {my BIL got married in July when we went back so it was crazy busy} so hope to get the chance to just chill for the most part! and I am actually looking forward to shopping on Friday!!!

We're on vacation at my parents' place in Florida all week. I plan on laying around, visiting bookstores, eating ice cream and going out to lunch with DH while the kids play with the grandparents.

Mom has a photo project she wants to me help her with using all their cruise photos so I'll be busy with that as well

Well, today is dance (need to get off computer and get Rachel ready). I just picked up her Christmas dress so will be looking for shoes.
Tomorrow we're going to see Santa at the mall, and maybe hit a dollar movie.
Wednesday is free day at the zoo, so we're there if the weather cooperates.
Thursday...DH will be getting home from work in the AM and heading for bed, so Rachel and I will chill out and watch the parade while everything is cooking. We'll do some Christmas decorating as well
Friday...more Christmas decorating (get hubby outside putting up lights), and MAYBE some shopping (preferably HERE lol). We're going to see Planet 51 at some point this during the weekend, not sure when.
