My daughter is turning 5 on Dec. 3rd and on top of her birthday list is Bendaroos.

She has wanted them forever so I'm thinking about breaking down and getting her some this time around. Does anyone have them? How are they? Complete waste of money or fun for the kids? :)

P.S. I think she watches too much TV. Her birthday list is: bendaroos, paperonis and moon sand. Good grief. :p

We dont' have them but my MIL bought them for DS to play with at her house and he likes them...actually the last time we were there we all sat around the table talking and making things out of them lol

We don't have any bendaroos but Jules got some moonsand a couple years ago.... we played with it once and after cleaning up the giganto mess, it promptly went in the trash. YIKES!!

My son's wanted Bendaroos forever now, and it was actually the first thing (along with Hungry Hungry Hippos) that he's specifically requested for Christmas!!! I already bought him a set.... I don't remember if it was Walmart or Kmart, but one of them has a great deal on them for Black Friday, btw! :)

My sister got my ds (7) some bendaroos last year. He really liked them. They're actually pretty fun and low on the messy scale, which I like.

Anything is better than that devil-toy MoonSand!

I got some for DS this summer as we were traveling and we could easily bring these along in the car and on the plane. They are lower on the scale of messiness (not playdough or sand) but they do tend to scatter them around and they get stuck in the carpet, get fuzzies and then aren't as pretty looking. But I do think they are fun and they feed their imagination. We keep a small ziploc of them in the diaper bag for when we go out to eat so the kiddos have something to do.

My children are getting some Bendaroos for X-Mas. I'm actually pretty excited about them! Can't wait to play with them.

As for Moon Sand: yuck! So messy, the boys only played once and the mess was ridiculous. The sand is sitting in a Tupperware on my counter. I wanted to trash it, but DH want to wait until spring and put it in the sandbox! lol! :)

I saw Paperonis at the store, but I think it's a little too advanced for my 5 year old boy. He does not have a big attention span.

I haven't bought them yet, but I will probably get my 7yo and my 5yo some bendaroos. I wouldn't bother if I had to order them somewhere but now that I can get them locally I figure why not....

do not buy moonsand :p ever..

i don;t have those, but Ive heard hit or miss reviews.. seems the older the kids are the less of a wow factor they maintain.. so you should be safe ^_^

LOL on all the moon sand comments. She only wants moon sand because they've had it before and after a couple of plays with it I told them it had dried up and was ruined and I threw it away. :o I hated that stuff! We won't be bringing any more of that home! :p

we have bendaroos and we all love them. we will have family night and take turns making stuff out of them and seeing if the other 3 of us can guess what we made. i would highly reccomend them :)

MoonSand :glare:

We might get some Bendaroos after hearing your reviews here... Dominick really enjoys fine-motor activities so these would be right up his alley!

We have Bendaroos. My kids like them but don't love them. I like the idea of using them for travel--I'm going to pull them out and put them with the toys I'm packing for our trip tomorrow.

My boys (6 and 4) got them for their birthdays last April and they really like them. They are missing quite a few now and have a bunch of them in one big ball that they will undo and make into other stuff.

I actually think they are not that messy to cleanup which is nice. I have a new box of them on the list for Christmas because they were a hit w/ both of them.

I dont know if you have a Zaxby's around where you live, but they usually give them as prizes in their kids meal, you could try them out before you buy the big amount of them. My daughter gets them and they are just wax on some type of string, so I would be careful and not leave them in the car. :)

my daycare provider likes tham and my 2 little ones really enjoy playing with them {3 & 2} and so I think I am going to get some for XMAS...FYI Toys R Us has them on sale Friday for $19.99 :) I've been planning my Friday sales and this was on there :)

My youngest was given something really similar, Wikki Stix. They were fun the first couple uses, but they stuck together and were hard to get apart after that. And also, they left a sticky residue on the carpet, and really made a mess in the car in the summer heat. Hopefully bendaroos don't have those issues, but thought I'd mention it so you don't have a problem.

Hahaha! At least the Shamwow has a purpose. My mom is getting my 5yo a Kids Snuggie for Christmas. I told her she was nuts, but she insists.

yes yes..she's slightly obsessed with neatness like me haha

I got my son a Spongebob snuggie thing and 2 of my girls a Tinkerbell one from TRU (I think it's called a Snuggler there)...they are kinda cute haha. They are going to be on sale on Friday but they only had 1 spongebob so I went ahead and bought them

You can get the Wikki Sticks at Hobby Lobby for a lot cheaper than Bendaroos. They are pretty much the same thing!

I have one of these...but the QVC version...and I really like mine for sitting at the computer in my pjs...keeps my body warm. My teenaged boys want them to wear while watching tv...they are both skin & bones...no fat on their bodies to keep them warm...so mom ordered them the QVC ones and now they are much longer and have a pocket for your feet to go into. Mine is too short to cover my feet when I lay back in my recliner.

Mine are getting them. They were on sale last week at Wal-Mart. My cousin has them and she said they take them to church. Even the Grandpa plays with them. She says some get gross, just throw them away. Hate Moon Sand and now my kids informed me they now have Aqua Sand-won't be getting that.

My kids have shown no interest in Bendaroos. But *I* am interested in them. I think I'll have to get some for my kids now, heh heh.
