I am just giddy about Christmas this year...

I'm just so into it this year...I think mostly b/c last year was chaos with me giving birth and DH being deployed and all lol...but this year I'm having so much fun decorating, shopping, getting ready for Santa etc. For the first time this year my parents are going to come over to our house Christmas morning and I'm going to make breakfast so I'm loving planning that. My kids are at perfect ages...my husband is HOME this year..I'm just having so much fun :p
 
I am too!! This is our first year at home since moving to the town we are in (4 years now) and my parents are coming down here! I am just SO SO excited about not doing hourrrrrrs of driving in just a few days - my parents are 7+ hours away then we go to darcy's parents another 5 or so.. so yea it will be nice to just sit home and actually be able to enjoy the holiday season and having the kiddos wake up in their own beds on christmas morning will be so much fun :)

Yeah Nikki and Kristin!! I just LOVE Christmas, too - and have a blast planning and getting ready!

Nikki - what are you planning for breakfast? My parents will be at my house, too - they'll be SHOCKED if I actually have breakfast planned for them, LOL!
 
Meeee too!!!! The last 3 years we had like NO money and never decorated or got any fun presents (maybe a movie). This year things are better and we decided we HAVE to have a tree and lights this year.... and we're getting some really awesome gifts! I've got so many things planned for December and can't wait to start some new traditions with Allie. It's going to be soooo fun!
 
So far this is my list...

sausage balls
cheese grits
breakfast bowls - eggs/cheese/sausage/bacon
and Pioneer Woman's Caramel apple Sticky buns I made these a couple of months ago and they were heavenly.

I'm not planning on a huge breakfast b/c it'll just be us and my parents and maybe my brother...they only live 15 minutes away so they'll just drive over after the kids have had Santa...plus we have Christmas Dinner that night at my Mom's house so I don't want to fill everyone up lol
 
I'm really excited for Christmas this year too, I can't wait for my kiddos to see what Santa and Mommy & Daddy brought them! Plus it's fun now that Kyle is getting bigger (he's 2.5) and he's really starting to get the whole Christmas/Santa thing and telling me what he wants on his "kismas list", it's so darn cute!

I haven't decided what to fix for breakfast yet, we don't eat much since we go to my grandparents for lunch @ around noon/1pm. So we usually just have Pillsbury cinnamon rolls or something, but I may have to make those PW sticky buns cause they look yummy!
 
Nikki can I have breakfast at your house? LOL Sounds yummy!!

Im not so much in a christmasy mood. IDK...its been a tough year for my family from around last thanksgiving so I guess Im just ready to have the year over and hope next year is alot better.
 
i'm glad some people are enjoying it! i'm a bit excited for some of the gifts the kids are getting, but i don't have a big family. DH is too depressed to care, and he's mad at his family, my mom and dad are divorced, my dad is practially homeless unable to find work, my mom can't find work but she lives with her bf. i told my dad he can come stay with us, but so far he hasn't. i'd love it if he did, atleas for christmas. the kids are excited of course so i'm doing my best to make it fun for them!

I'm so glad this year is turning out to be so fun for you! I'm glad your dh is home this year...but thanks again to him and your family for his sacrifices for our country last year!!
 
Sharon..I'm going to try Pioneer Woman's recipe in her cookbook for the breakfast bowls...I've yet to try a recipe of hers that I don't love so I'm sure they'll be delicous :)
