so our leaky pipe was fixed Wednesday for $365. okay. well last night while taking a bath i hear, yet again, water dripping underneath. looked in the crawl space and sure enough its full of water. again. *sigh* i swear this house has a curse on it. ever since we moved in we've had nothing but bad luck.

and with it being a weekend, they would charge us more to come out so i'm waiting for Monday. and i hope its not another $300! we are going to try to move this summer/fall. we've had enough. :cursing:

most of the people that go fix something, will fix only what they see needs fixing w/ the current problem... it is sad, but they make money by just showing up to your house... so if you call a second time is another what $75-100 just for "checking".

So sorry Corey- (I'm cursed too!) Hope they can fix it quickly. Aren't the new repairs covered as they just worked on it? Hope so!

well, he was under there for a long time. he said he didn't see any more leaks. so i'm assuming its just another leak the happened later that day/night. plus, the first leak was leaking on the furnace duct so we could hear it very loudley echoing up into the bathroom vent. this leak i can't hear. but the fact there there is about a foot of water under the house proves that something is leaking. i turned the water on this morning so i could atleast do a load of dishes so they wouldn't be sitting around all weekend, and when i checked the crawlspace again i could see there was more water. its been cold, so it could be my pipes are weakened from last years calamity and they are busting now since its been colder. and yes, they charge a base fee of $78 just for coming out, more on the weekend. so we'll wait til Monday. hopefully, the water will be soaked in otherwise they'll charge me $78 for coming and putting the pump in, then another $78+parts, labor when they come to fix it after the water is pumped. they obviously can't get under there when its full of water, safety issues and ewww, lol. its so nasty under there. i feel bad, lol.

and i'm guessing that if this leak is what he just fixed then they shouldn't charge me extra. it would be their fault. but i think its an entirely different broken pipe.

Oh I'm so sorry to hear that Corey. {{{hugs}}}

Maybe get a pack of paper plates so you can use as little water as possible for now. Hopefully they will give you some sort of break since they were just there.

maybe you should rent a pump and get the water out of there in the meantime.. save you a day when they get out there.

Oh no!! Hopefully it will be a quick and cheep fix... and fixed for good this time! ~~~sending good vibes~~~~

i went to Walmart and bought some gallons of water. we drink a lot of coffee and i need it to cook. i have paper plates and silverware. i did have paper cups but i ran out. and the water is slowly soaking in. i'm hoping it will all be gone before i call them monday. but the ground has a lot of clay down there so it takes awhile.

just wondering you dont have any family or friends who you could call when the pipes break? We have had issues in the last month or so with our water heater and my husband and son swapped them out and did all the work themselves. I know not everyone can do that but it really sucks you have to pay out so much money for a plumber to come each time

nope. my dad gets claustrophobic and won't go under there, my brother doesn't know anything about plumbing. and my husband is too big probably to maneuver down there, lol and doesn't know much about plumbing. plus i can't get him to do anything. i don't have a lot of family and really no friends. so i have no choice but to pay other people to do it.
