This year as we were unpacking our ornaments for the tree, we did NOT find our tree topper. Then I remembered - we threw our old topper out last year after Christmas because it was well past its prime.

DH wants a star; I want an angel: it's a fierce battle here in the Springmann house...Ok, not really! :)

But I want to know what sits atop your tree!
 
We have 3 trees in our house. Two of them have stars and one has a big silver bow. I have never been an angel on top of the tree person.....don't know why though. I have just never had one.
 
We have a star. I don't really like it, but it was the best I could find a year or two ago. I couldn't find any stars OR angels that I really loved. I love the trees with the big bows and ribbons on them, but there's no way Jordan will go for that, lol.
 
On one tree I have Mickey Mouse in a Santa suit ( he's on a spire with a lantern, so cute!) and a star on the other.
 
nothing.. though I've done a star... and one year I put a holiday barbie up there (really lol she was pretty)
 
I normally do an angel. This year though I bought a cute little santa to go up there. I thought N would enjoy it. I looked for a star cause I thought that would be fun and he loves shapes, but I couldn't find one I liked.
 
Right now, NOTHING. We did the same as you! I totally forgot until we put up our tree this year. But I refuse to pay full price, so this year it will be nothing.

In past years we had a huge bow at the top.

They have 50% off at Hobby Lobby already. Thats how I got the santa, its a small one, but I got it for $4.
 
We have a star - it seems everyone we know has the exact same one, like EVERYONE. *LOL* This pretty gold star from Canadian Tire. It was the best we could find without spendinging a fortune. Another year I'll find something I like better. We have a LOT of ribbon on our tree, so I think I need something more solid for the top, you know? DH is awesome about decorating though, he actually wanted me to decorate a tree like we saw in a hotel, with lots of magenta and pink ribbon and big gold and pink glass balls and a bow on top! I couldnt' part with my favourite ornaments this year, maybe for a secondary tree next year. :)
 
DS1 insisted we get a star for our new tree this year. But it's sorta too heavy for the tip of the tree and leans alarmingly so we have a bow there now until DH thinks of some way to reinforce the tree top.

Our old, small tree has always had a bouquet of fake poinsettas as a topper because everything is too big for it
 
If I'm lucky, nothing, if I'm not, my cat! LOL He REALLY enjoys playing with the ornaments...
 
I have an Angel on the top of mine. It was the angel that was on top of my grandmothers tree. When she passed away my Dad asked me if there was anything I wanted that was hers and I said I wanted her Angel from her Christmas tree! :D I love that angel and will never put a different on my tree.
 
Star surrounded by flowers and ribbon... it took me forever to find one that didin't over power the tree... our main tree is tall and narrow and most stars are way too big. FINALLY found one... in all places, a rummage sale! First time in 10 years, I'm happy with the tree top.
 
We always had an angel when I was growing up, but since I got married, we've had a star. I just haven't yet found an angel that I really like (and can afford that is LOL).
 
Winnie the Pooh dressed as either an angel or santa, and a star on Alex's tree as Pooh Bear is too heavy to go on his, unfortunately.

But Pooh may be retiring this year as Alex announced that, as he was 7, he was now too old for Winnie.
 
Ha, we're in the same situation... We used to have an angel but I think we're going to switch to a star... but waiting until the after Christmas sales.
 
Well I guess I'm the only one with a snowflake. It's a beautiful sparkly white one that also lights up. It took me years to find it, but it's beautiful and so that's what's on top of my tree :-)
 
Always a star - I don't like anything else on top. Yes, Hobby Lobby already has 50% off. Plus for our second tree this year I got a very simple lighted start at Target for $5.99. I love it!
 
right now nothing for us either! I had to throw away ours last year after it pretty much fell apart. I need to hunt for something I like. I'm probably going to get a star.
 
I voted other....as this year our tree is a bit "different"...most years it's been a star or bow but this year *coughs*.....it's going to be a New Orleans Saints Helmet...our whole tree is done in black and gold LOL...
 
I have an animated/lit Angel that I've had for years and years... I'll be devastated when she finally decides she doesn't want to work anymore!!!
