DQOT: Favorite "grinchy" movie/story

lauren grier

you're like stars
I forgot to post this morning :p lol... So what's your favorite "grinchy" movie or book.. featuring bahumbug main character who's heart is warmed to the christmas spirit by the end of the story

One Magic Christmas...mother who's crabby because her life is crappy and ends up believing in Santa and have her heart warmed at the end. I have yet to watch the movie this year but I will soon!

LOL, you got it figured out already, in the thread title...it's How the Grinch Stole Christmas, hands-down. And I mean the cartoon, not the movie. I love the book too...after so many years of reading it to every class in the building, I have it memorized.

The Grinch got an idea, an awful idea. The Grinch got a wonderful, awful idea. I *love* it :)

Why Mr. Scrooge of course :)

I have to watch A Muppet's Christmas Carol every year when we put up our tree. And I always watch the 1938 version b/c it's the one I watched with my Granny every year when I was little.

I just watched "Shrek the Halls" the other night and it was too cute! I'm glad they only kept it 30 minutes too...that's about all I can handle, and it had all the original characters (actors) from the movies.

I think Fred Claus is pretty funny! I just caught it for the first time a couple of weeks ago on TV and I've watched it several times now. :)

I would say that The Grinch Who Stole Christmas is the best of those, mostly because I love that rein-dog and I love the line "The three words that best describe you, are, and I quote: "Stink. Stank. Stunk.""

Mine is 'One Magic Christmas', too- so sweet and touching! I have it DVR'd and am waiting to watch it on a quiet night! We all like 'Scrooged', too, esp dh, cracks him up every time we watch it

A Christmas Carol with George C. Scott (1984) is my favorite version. I'd forgotten about Scrooged, probably because i've never seen it that much, but it is funny and fun to watch :)
