Okay guys I got the iPod Touch for Christmas...love that my parents like to still buy us presents and bigger presents at that!

Slowly putting a little music on there, downloaded a free Couch to 5k podcast, now for it to quit snowing in Oregon and for me to get my butt outside to use it.

I've also purchased a couple Jodi Picoult books and one free book so far, but would love some other great free books to start reading on it too...

Thanks for the suggestions in advance!

Kim

The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks. One of my all time favorites ever!! Where the Heart Is...cant remember who wrote it now. Billie something I think. Nineteen Seconds by Jodi Picoult. One of my favorites by her. For really easy reading I enjoyed The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. Its kinda more for teens/tweens but it was good.

What's the couch to 5K podcast? I'm so clueless but it sounds like something I could use :)

Barnesandnoble.com was offering a free eeader download I think with free book offerings? Can't wait to see what others post.

okay another quick question...

we don't have wireless internet at home, I'm thinking I am going to have to look into it really soon though!

But my question is if I buy books can I not download them from Amazon if my iPod is plugged in or does it have to be done wireless? (Does that make sense?)

Thanks,
Kim

I have the kindle app and as long as you have 3g going for you whisper sync works and it just downloads it to your phone it take under a minute.

If you are plugged into your computer, you can DL from amazon's kindle store. I got a kindle for XMAS, but not using my ipod touch for it right now as the kindle fits in my purse too ;) There are TONS of classics available free for kindle- Crime and Punishment, Anna Karenina, Dracula, I mean TONS of free books! HTH!

pretty sure that won't work for the itouch..the phone has built in 3g but the itouch needs wifi to get a connection.

It might work plugged in though..sorry not any help lol

Hi...dumb question.... if you have an iPod touch, do you need to also have the Kindle to use the iKindle application?

No I don't have the kindle but read my books I purchased from Amazon on my ikindle app for the Ipod Touch. You do not need wifi to read them - only to download them to your Ipod initially. I do try samples to see if this book or that is something I want to read. The ebooks stay there until you delete them if you want. They stay stored at Amazon and I figure if I ever get the Kindle I can just transfer them to it. Hope that helps!

I'm pretty sure you can sync the books through the computer too. I know with the Kindle itself you can sync the books either through the network or by plugging it into the computer.

There's also a Couch to 5K app that will do the timing for you but allows you to play your own music. Just in case you get tired of his music.
