Splitting double page LO up to print...

Hi girls!! I just completed a LO using one of Janet's new 2 many photos templates...30 pics scrapped all at once, WOOT!

So how do I split this two-page LO up into two individual 12" LOs so I can save them to be printed? I use CS4. I can think of a few ways, but would like to know the "right" way.

I flatten the layout, then go to canvas size and change it to 12x12 and click the box on the directional panel to the left middle which will make the layout crop to 12x12 only on the left. Save that layout, ctrl z and do the same thing this time clicking the box on the right middle and save.
 
I crop to the left side ... save as PSD ... Ctrl + Z and repeat to the right side. I always save my PSD files...which I guess I could save as a double...but I don't. lol
