He's a Basset Hound! I'm so excited to see him lol! ..we're thinking of naming him either Caesar or Henry lol..how cute is he?? He's going to be a surprise for the kids on Valentine's Day :p

Ohhh CUTE! My cousins had a basset hound when I was growing up-I loved that dog, his name was Farmer-

What do you mean already? LOL! I know we only just got married, but we've been together over 4 years. And I'm not getting any younger (27 in a week-ish).

You're the same age I was when I got married :)...we didn't wait long..we got married in Dec and started trying about 6 months later...we ended up going through 4 years of infertility though so didn't have DS til I was 30.

Oh and his name JUST hit me a while ago and DH amazingly agreed..he's going to be Hurley!! :)...anyone know why :p

Oh my gosh he's adorable Nikki! The kids are going to love him!

And I'm guessing his name has something to do with Lost since I know your a big fan :p (I've never watched though)

Jordan wants to wait 2 years. I REALLY don't think I can wait that long though, lol. I have some scripts that I have to be off of for several months before we can even start trying, so it's not going to be a surprise or anything. But still. I've got serious baby fever.

He won't let me get a second dog either, lol.

SO cute! I loove basset hounds - well i mean i don't think i've ever seen one in person actually but i think they are adorable!

Col - we got pregnant within our first year of marriage and i was way young when we got married (21). I say do it ;) You can convince him. 2 years is soo long to wait!

Nothing will be happening until his brother moves out of the house and we have some REAL time alone. Jordan is a VERY stubborn man K, lol. We'll see. I'm ok with not trying yet, we'll see where I'm at in a while.

Sorry to hijack your thread Nikki! LOL!

That dog is adorable! We had beagles as kids (they look pretty much the same, they're just a bit taller than bassets) and they are just soooooo cute! And i think Hurley is an adorable name. (I like Henry too!)

And Colleen, I got married September 08 (i'd just turned 27 about a week before), fell pregnant in October and had my son this past July. I highly reccomend it! Quick, yes, but like you, we'd been together for years before we got married (7 years to be exact)

Oh my gosh Nikki! You are going to LOVE him! I grew up with several of them and we now have two. A male (9 years old) named Buster Brown and a female (7 years old) named Maggy Mae. They live with my parents currently since we moved to a new home that has a VERY tiny yard and my parents have 16 acres but, they are still our babies. They were so great with the kids when they were little. We got Buster when Megan was only 4 and she could literally maul him and he would just lay there.

Is he going to be an indoor or outdoor baby? Or both?

They do shed quite a bit and have a strong hound odor....just FYI. :p

And like any proud Mommy, I am now going to overload you all with adorable Bassett Hound pics that will make you all want one.

Here is Buster not long after we got him. He was 2 1/2 months old.

And here are three perfect examples of how Megan loved on Buster like crazy and he just sat there. And one of him that is the most handsome pic I ever captured of him. Man he was gorgeous. He is A WHOLE LOT grayer now.....he's a fat old man.

Now to go wipe my tears and blow my nose. Wow, this was a long time ago!

He is so cute! I have been dying to get another pet. Right now we have 2 dogs and 4 cats. However, they all live at my parents....which happens to be right next door. All of the pets are mine...some I got when I lived at home and others I got when I lived with my ex.
I couldn't exactly bring them with my to my new relationship with me since I moved in with him. But I've been trying desperately to talk him into getting a puppy.

Aww, he's so cute, Nikki.
And as I know how creative you are, I'm looking forward to your pages which would be a great inspiration for me to scrap our puppy (hovawart). Yay! :p

Awww!! Those are sooo cute!

Yes he will be an inside dog..but we live out in the country so he'll be outside as well. I just can't wait to see him when his ears get all floppy :)

Fun stuff!

And I just have to add that Col, you should know that when new life begins, YOUR life ends. ; ) And seriously that guy is STILL living with you?!

LOLOLOLOL!!! Yes Kellie, he is. For over a year and a half now. I finally had to put my foot down and the deadline is set for March 1st. If he's not out by then I'm throwing his sh*t in the front yard myself. I can't DEAL with this anymore! LOL! The original deal was that he had to be gone by the time we got back from the honeymoon. That was 3 months ago. D-O-N-E!

Yea, the baby fever is strong. Jordan's best friend and wife had their first in November, and we got to visit with them over Christmas. I got to hold her, feed, snuggle her, burp her, and comfort her. AND I got her to poop, which was a big deal that day :p We're both ready emotionally, but Jordan (the ever practical penny pincher) isn't ready financially (and yes, I know, you're never really READY in either aspect, lol!).

My only experience with bassets isn't great. The only one I know is a loveable dufus for sure, but he just creates chaos everywhere. He refused to be trained to do ANYTHING, lol. Not house broken, not polite in manners, didn't listen, ran away repeatedly (broke off tie-outs), etc. We called him the most lovable a-hole you'd ever meet, LOL!

So true..sooo true lol...

I have to say that even though the 4 years we were married without children..I spent WANTING to have children..I'm now able to look back on and be thankful that we had those 4 years as a couple.

Posting at the same time :)

We always planned to wait a little while after we got married before we started trying. As I mentioned, Jordan's best friend just had their first (married 14 months when she was born) and we both see how completely overwhelmed they are. I mean, I know that your first is a new and crazy experience and all, but I don't think they were really ready. She had a plan, and there was NO deviating from it. IDK.

I've said for a long time now that I need to either be pregnant, or at least be TTC by the time I'm 30. The health risks involved with having kids after 30 really worry me. Not to mention I don't want to be 40 and chasing a toddler around, lol.

he is adorable Nikki!! I LOVVVEEE Bassett Hounds!! I would love to get a dog but unfortunately I think my cats would go nuts if I did.
