Great news for Wii owners & Netflix subscribers!!

I can't wait! I have 49 movies in my instant queue so far...it will be awesome. Now the problem is ... up until now my tv has been a NO Wii connection because there is not a lot of room in this room to jump around and flail your arms (because of my laptop sitting in the middle of the room) ... but I guess that will be changing. lol
 
So how does that work Nikki? DH just told me the other night that our bluay can stream movies. Do you have to be a Netflix member? I'm assuming you have to have a wireless connection to the bluay. I'm very curious as I've spent about $40 at RedBox in the last month to watch movies. Guess I should just get Netflix huh....
 
you do have to have a netflix subscription and only certain bluay players do it. We have one and love it! We have a Wii too, so we will have double the access now!

Yes...you must be a netflix subscriber ... and it's only certain ones. Some bluay have wireless connections (or you can get a blue tooth dongle the salesman told me) or some have wired. here is a link to all the different devices that are compatible (with Wii coming soon):

I'm very happy with Netflix ... generally I can put a DVD OUT in my mailbox on Monday ... they get it Tuesday morning and ship out my next DVD on Tuesday ... I get it Wednesday ... and I never had to leave my house!! I have the subscription for 2 DVDs out at a time ... but for example ... I have been watching SOAP series (and they ship 1 DVD out at a time in the TV on DVD series) ... and they came from a location further away from me so it would take an "extra day" for delivery ... so they went ahead and shipped me the next DVD in my queue ... so I have 2 DVDs here right now and another due on Tuesday. ...so sometimes you end up with an extra one...

I have seen Adam, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, and GLEE Season 1 ... all on the day they were RELEASED! Of course I made sure we got them right back in the mail so others could enjoy them quickly.
 
Thanks Sharon! I'll have to look at our manual to see what ours can do.... Maybe I'll just have to join Netflix. LOL
 
I've always wanted to try Netflix but I think this will convince me. Does anyone know will it be the same price?

Netflix customer service told me that the disk for the Wii is free of charge and that viewing Netflix instand viewing on the Wii comes with your membership...might doublecheck what comes with your membership depending on what "level" of service you buy.
