Fantastic news!!

I know I'm posting queen this weekend but we got some FANTASTIC news yesterday!!

DH is getting promoted to MAJOR!!!!! I'm so so so proud of him! He's been eligible for promotion for 2+ years now but b/c slots are few and far between in AGR he's had to wait...and he finally got a slot yesterday. He'll be promoted in May probably!! It means that we may possibly have to move within the next year. Right now he works about 10 minutes from home and the new job is in Jackson which is about 1 1/2 hr drive..we're going to try him commuting for a while but if he just hates it then we'll probably look at moving back to Jackson area. I don't want to move b/c we are finally back in my hometown with my parents only 10 minutes away, but we have to go where his job is and if he's not happy with that commute I have to do what's best for him kwim?

I'm just SOOO proud for him :)
 
Oh and I forgot the best part..his new job is with retention/recruiting which means almost ZERO possibility of deployment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that is the best news of all for me :)
 
Thats ewally great news Nikki - so pleased for him and your family - exciting times ahead with the possible changes and all.
 
Aw, congratulations, Nikki!! And to your hubby! He worked hard for it and he deserves the promotion!
 
Thanks everyone! I have just prayed and prayed over this b/c the unit he's with now is up for another deployment in about 9 mos..to Iraq this time and I just didn't think I could handle another deployment overseas. I'm just SO thankful this job came available. You have no idea the relief I feel. 3 deployments in 5 years would just be my undoing I think...I need him home with us for a while!
