I think I've died and gone to crafter's heaven!

Basic Grey's gone DIGITAL...AND they are coming out with fabric too! My craft room is a work in progress, but it's is based on the Blush line from BG...If I'm dreaming please don't wake me.

I've so far managed to restrain myself from making a purchase over there.

But, that won't last forever. BG is my all time favorite paper company. I hoard that stuff. Definitely falls under the delusional "it's too pretty to actually use" category.

I haven't bought anything yet, but when Blush shows up, fabric or digital I can guarantee that I will own every single piece!

LOL I'm quite embaressed by my BG paper collection...I solved the issue of "it's too pretty to actually use" a LONG time ago...I bought at least 2 of everything...Except for Blush...I bought way more than two and now I need more for my craftroom make-over.

Tonight I'll be dreaming of my quilted chair in Blush fabrics....Swoon!

I noticed this last week and actually shrieked. I am definitely gonna have to refine the budget this year

I've got a paper kit subscription that ends next month...I know where that 40 euros every month will be going! I'm dying to get my hands on the Blush Fat Quarters bundle...waiting quite impatiently for it to hit the store actually. I literally dreamt of this stuff last night.

hmm....

my personal opinion?

I think paper going digi...just sent digi back a couple years just from looking at it....

no flaming...again my personal opinion just from looking at it :0/

I LOOOVE BG paper lines...digi not so much...I think I'm spoiled with the quality of digistores out there now. The kits are PACKED for a portion of the price

I'm sure I'll delete this message though..lol

I have a love/hate thing going on with basic grey. Over the last few years there has been perhaps only 3 or 4 sheets of paper that I have loved and the rest I have hated. I see projects made with BG stuff but they are just not me. I do however love their chipboard letters and I have stacks of them in my drawer.

Now, if Cosmo Cricket were to go digital .......

The only thing I will probably buy will be the Blush papers when they release those, simply because the paper line is discontinued and I really need more to finish my room and most definitely the Blush fat quarter when it comes out. I'm just thrilled to have an option available instead of having to go with different papers and/or colors than what I had my heart set on. :D

I'm definitely there if Cosmo Cricket goes digi!

As I just said to Meg, I loved their stuff from the beginning, and kind of have tunnel vision with them now, lol. If I'm being honest with myself, in the last year or so there has only been 1 or 2 lines (maybe) that I've really LOVED.

BUT. I've gotten TOTALLY hooked on Cosmo Cricket. I've loved tons of their stuff lately (one of these days I'm going to find a good sale and snag everything in the "Everafter" line.

LOL no flaming going to come from me, just bit of my own reasoning in response. :)

From a strictly digi standpoint...I couldn't agree with you more. From a paper/hybrid standpoint...I will love having the option to buy that missing sheet I REALLY need but it's sold out and/or discontinued, or having embelishments leftover but nothing to go with them then I again have the option of picking up something digi that I KNOW will match without having to play the guessing game when trying to match colors from real life to what is on my moniitor.

Plus from a teaching standpoint when I have to teach classes with themes that I don't necessarily have a use for I can do it digi and not waste all that paper for something that I will stick in a drawer or in the basement to collect dust. I use a lot BG stuff because that is what my students really like so this is going to be a great win/win situation for me.

As for the rest about the quality of digi stores out there...My disappointment with a lot of digi stores and quality is what turned me to paper to begin with...before I found SSD, and I found myself being disappointed with my digi purchases, more often than not.

I understand that reasoning 100 times over Wolfie...I'd be glad for digi in that case lol

As somebody that DOESN'T do paper anymore but looking at it form a paper scrappers point of view..I can see wanting digi papers from a paper line...why go buy five papers for .75 each at the store when you can pay .75 and buy one..and print it as many times as you want..I GET that part and the benefit of paper going digi...if I used it heck yeah I'd be glad for that.

I don't think however you can compare quality elements with a paper company (just going by what they have out so far) with those of current digi designers..that's what I meant when I posted..the quality is just so "old". Digi has come a long ways in a few short years and IMO the standards being produced by a paper company are not anywhere near what's in the market at a top quality digi store.

and it seems to me...unless the paper market is hurting bad right now, that going digi is NOT good for their bottom line...shrug

UGH...I wish papers only cost 75 cents here...1 euro and over, here...which is like $1.41 USD...a girl can dream, right?

If it's anything over there like it is over here...scrap stores are going under and hard...Europe's largest scrapbook supply distributor just closed their doors.

well..i haven't bought real paper in a long time haha..it might be more.

I did buy some kraft cardstock and it was like 80 cents I think? That was plain..sooo i'm sure a pretty patterned paper is more.

yeah, but we have all the customs and shipping fees that the retailers add on to the cost here...was even worse before the distributor shut down.

I think I agree with Meg. The quality of digi stores now is awesome, and it'll be hard to compare--however, with they're paper customers, it could transition people and help them.

I do, however, love their fabric--they already have some and it's beautiful!

dude, you're making us all feel inferior on our own turf! *sniff*

:p

honestly i prefer supporting the little independent designers rather than big corps. there is far more <3 in them and i know the $ is going to real people. ;)

xo

I checked it out and honestly it kinda reminds me of what digi stuff looked like when I started scrapping like three years ago. I never paper scrapped but the stuff on there does not look that great. I mean it is ok looking just not really what I would buy. The fabrics on the other hand I really loved. I could defenitely see a quilt being made with the blush line...that is if I actually knew how to quilt LOL. I could defenitely see though if someone liked the paper line like Meg mentioned for them to get a digital copy of what is selling in stores and to be able to print an unlimited amount would be really cool.

That's totally me too so, while I was excited to hear that BG will be selling digital...I probably won't buy a darn thing. LOL! And I couldn't even tell you their most recent stuff. I haven't paper scrapped in years. I learned about their products from a friend who's pages were gorgeous using BG products. Some of their papers were just to die for but I agree with what was said about the quality won't even compare to what we get now with digi!

Awwww...I'm sorry Lauren, that was never my intention...but you have to remember that I said "before" I found SSD. ;) I love SSD, but I didn't find it until after I came back from 2 years away from digi.

I'm not like most people who actually started with paper scrapping and switched to digi...I started with digi and switched to paper. I'm almost strictly a hybrid scrapper now... granted some pages get done digitally and wait a long time to get transfered to hybrid but mostly if I do a purely digi page it winds up in the trash bin or just taking up space on my harddrive. :(

Word.

I totally agree with you Meg - after I looked at the digi kits, I was totally disappointed in the quality AND the price (holy crap!) and I can gaurantee I won't be buying anything from that. BUT I am thrilled about the fabric!!
