Any form of album...mint tin, chipboard, accordian, board book, badge, whatever...is acceptable as long as it's tangible and uses the 10 theme, right?

Well from what I gather, since they use the word "project", it could be any physical project created using the 10 things theme.

Yup I'm looking forward to seeing lots of different types of albums. I actually started another one yesterday as I was feeling so inspired :)

Excellent! Ben is a little jealous of the laminated book I made Lauren for the Jan 10 pt challenge, and I think I need to make him his own 10 Things book. Now you guys are going to have to come up with another one I can do next month, because you know that if Lauren and Ben have them Jason is going to claim I don't love him unless I promise to make him one, too!

Well it has to be a real thing and not just pages on your computer and it has to include some sweet shoppe products so by it's nature it will be hybrid

Sooo....we could actually print out our digital layouts, assemble them in an album and call it a hybrid project???? I'm so confused!! LOL

I actually started mine....printed all the papers out..but ran out so I need to print some more off...I am limited since we have no ink for our big printer...whatever I do have to be 5x7 at the biggest!!!

Just in case some of you are needing some inspiration still on this one, here's mine I finished yesterday! I just printed the pages on 4x6 photo paper, trimmed and glued onto a premade accordian album I had in my stash!

And my 10 things I can't live without are:

A camera, my netbook, a good shampoo and conditioner, PSP, my family, my blender, notebooks & pens, music, books and chocolate!

Hi Kim, the portfolio listing calls for a '10 things mini book or project' so for this challenge you wouldn't be able to claim the points for simply printing your pages and placing them in an album. You could make mini pages and stick them to a chipboard mini album or turn them into accordian books, adhere them to wooden cubes and make a 10 things building bricks project etc.
I hope this helps :)

Thanks..I was just curious about what has to take place for it to be a hybrid project!! I actually just finished mine today...it's pretty simple but I made it for the boys so I know they will destroy it in a matter of days!!!

Hey girls,

I have two follow-up questions that hopefully someone won't mind answering for me. Can you use one of the "Brag Book" templates in the shop for your album?

Also, where can I find one of those accordian albums you all were mentioning? Would somewhere like Hobby Lobby have them?

Thanks so much in advance! Hybrid terrifies me, and I've never done it before but am seriously considering giving it a try for this month's challenge!

Hi Kendall :) I can't see a problem with using a brag book template as long as you print and assemble it. I don't know what Hobby Lobby sells I live in England) but I'm sure a Michaels or a Joanns would have an accordian book.

I'd love to see what you make, just ask if you get stuck and we'll try to help

I have been into Michaels and Hobby Lobby in my town and neither sells any chipboard books. Hobby Lobby has like 3 acrylic books and some kits with chipboard albums in them, but thats all.

You could always just print your pages and glue them back to back, or glue them either side of a piece of co-ordinating cardstock and trim leaving a border of the cardstock all the way round.

That's what I did since I can't find chipboard albums here to save my life. I printed on a nice heavy cardstock and then cut them and glued them back to back. It turned out pretty nice I think.

Thanks so much for the info! I think I'm just going to have to take the plunge and do it!

Do you all use Modge Podge to adhere your pages together?

Andrea Gourley

I use either double sided tape or my Tombow glue stick. I did a blog post here (http://sweetshoppedesigns.com/blog/?p=2882) a couple of weeks ago about sticky stuff. It might be worth having a little look.

I used double sided tape for mine since it would be less messy. It was super easy to use with the cardstock. I haven't used Modge Podge yet, just because I've heard that depending on your paper, you'd have to roll out air bubbles that might form. The double sided tape is pretty forgiving. I align the papers after I cut them then stick them together lightly and then once I'm happy with the placement I firmly press them together. If I don't like the alignment I find that the tape is forgiving enough (if you press lightly) to reset the papers.

Thanks so much Andrea for the compliment! I'm flattered! And your article on adhesives ROCKED! Totally cleared up what adhesives to use in what situation. Thanks!

I used double-sided tape for mine, too. But, I did mine on cardboard.

And, I used one of the Brag Book templates you guys were talking about. I used the new one, 10 Things About You by Shawna Clingerman...it is so cute!

The image is linked, so you can see every page and the entire project by clicking the photo:

Hope that helps! :)

If you check the $1 bins at Michael's there are chipboard albums in different shapes.

Also Michael's has a new selection of cardboard shapes that come in packages. It's there own line of craft supplies. There was one whole side of the aisel filled with these today and they'd make cute albums if anyone is looking for something new.

I hope that helps someone!

I actually bought some blank cards that were made of heavy cardstock, placed them together, trimmed the edges and stapled it all. :)
