Scum of the Earth!

Soap scum that is.

Ok what works. Seriously, I HATE cleaning the bath/shower (probably do the master shower 1 x year, its that bad. So other than regular cleaning (cause yeah...I mean well) how do you get the soap scum off without killing yourself.

I tried Method today from Target. Lets just say I may die of "natural causes" from the smell. I'm coughing and yes I had the vent on too. And guess what...still scum. I can't really tell on the tile, but I can tell on the door. Next I tried the windex, because well...I love windex. Nope didn't work. So what does? And do I need a gas mask to do it? Is it just elbow grease? what?!!!

Sigh. I meant well. Get cleaning done today so I can relax and have fun scrapping the rest of the week! Stupid scum!!!

If you're ready for some elbow grease and don't have issues with chemicals, the Magic Eraser works well, and you might need a couple on a job if it's that tough. You don't have to spraying anything on the walls at all..just the eraser and water.

The method shower cleaner gives me a huge headache..can't use it at all. Seriously Mr. Clean Magic Eraser does a fantastic job..just make sure your shower/tub is dry first...then wet the sponge and it comes off so easily. I found it doesn't work as well if the shower is wet.

Ours is bad too, darn lime in Texas. I've found the stuff from Cleaning Ideas to work the very best, and its reasonably priced. I'm not sure if they are all over Texas, but it looks like they ship. I use the lime remover on my shower, I just pour a little on, gently spread it over and you can see it working. Its strong if you close the shower door while you are working but its not heavily scented. I also use the toilet bowl cleaner and love it (as much as you can love something related to your toilet! LOL)

not sure what you could use cleaner wise, but a friend of mine suggested using (used) dryer sheets. It seriously takes the scuzz right off our shower/bath.

Oh, I right there with ya sister. I hate cleaning the tub/shower.

I haven't tried this yet, and I'm a little nervous about if it would really work without making things slippery, but I read that sometimes landlords buy a cheap grease cutting shampoo. Put a thin layer in the tub (not quite sure how they do that). Let it sit for a couple of hours and then supposedly it isn't that hard to clean.

Again I haven't tried it but it sort of made some sense. Although, I would make sure it isn't slippery when you're done.

my friend that runs an apartment complex uses oven cleaner to to cut through it.

I just use elbow grease and sos pads.

My fam has used Shaklee products for years. One that I continue to use is "At Ease," I guess they're calling it "Scour Off" now. It is a paste and smells like bubble gum (or at least it did when it was 'at ease' :) )

I'm very conscious of chemicals in the house. This takes some elbow grease, but will work. And it's safe enough to get naked in the shower with it (sorry for that visual:blink:)

But, really, it can run down my arms and not give me chemical burns....no respiratory distress....no burning eyes!
May be worth a try for you!
