So my oldest 3 had just gone out to play and I had just got the 2 little ones in bed. I'm lounging in my recliner getting ready to scrap and I hear the middle 2 right out the front windows. Not 2 seconds go by and I watch as my 7 year old reaches up and whacks the icicles right down on top of my 5 year old. I hear the crash and then the blood curdling scream, I throw my laptop and try and leap out of a recliner as fast as humanly possible and I just KNOW I'm gonna see shards of ice stuck in his eyes and face!!!! I get to the window and I see nothing in his face but he is holding his shoulder so I screamed to come to the garage door and thankfully when I look him over he just has a big scrap/rug burn looking thing that is probably gonna bruise. But I'm stunned at the "damage" that was done through 2 shirts, snow bibs and a winter coat  I just know that if it would have got him in the face it would have sliced him to bits :crying: I swear the 7 year old we shaking in her boots with the daggers I was throwing her!!! :cursing: Here is a picture of said icicles, ugh I just shudder thinking of "what could have been.........." :(

Oh my goodness. I was getting so scared that you were writing from the emergency room. I'm glad that there wasn't a serious injury. Ice & icicles can be very dangerous.

Oh my goodness - I would have been freaking out too!! Icicles are so beautiful, but so dangerous! I agree with the others, now that you have pics, knock those suckers down! And try not to think of the "What could have beens" (I know its easier said than done), but it will just stress you out more. HUGS!!

if I tell you to knock them down, will you chew me out?:p

I only had really little ones when we lived where it was cold enough to get icicles, so I guess I really never thought of it being dangerous like that.

I'm so happy it wasn't serious...angels were watching over for sure there!

I hope your blood pressure is ok now (well I'm obviously guessing it went sky high when this happened) and you can relax and scrap some...or did the little ones wake up from the screaming?

So sorry! I was scared about the large icicles along our house too, and I asked DH to knock them down last night before they hurt us or one of the dogs when we're out there.

living in sydney, where it doesnt even snow, i cant even imagine that situation. They are so pretty, i would never have even considered how dangerous they could be. So glad your LO is ok.
