I want something less than 200 dollars..just something I can keep in my bag when we're out rather than having to haul my Rebel with me everywhere I go. But I want GOOD pics..doesn't have to have tons of bells/whistles..just good pics :)

Not the one I bought. lol I am forever getting mad at it cause it has the LONGEST freakin delay on Earth and ticks me off. lol I just bought a cheap one from Best Buy, their brand, it was like $60.

Ive read amazing reviews about the Panasonic Lumix LX3 - it has manual controls and ISO too.

I've seen these too... and it's what I'm zoning on, too. I'm not happy with the Olympic on I have, and it's a second one I've purchased by this company, just not happy.

I have been happy with my Canon Elph SD790IS. I do the same thing that you are talking about. My little P&S stays in my purse so I always have it with me. My big camera comes out for special events or if I want to take better pictures. I have been happy with it.

The place I went that gave me the most help in researching this is Test Freaks. I LOVE that site!!!!

I just got a Canon Powershot SX120 IS after I took back the nikon coolpix....it's a really good camera! It has manual and a ton of scene modes and it's 10 MP..I highly recommend it. I don't recommend the coolpix because it has digital zoom instead or optical which makes zoom pics terrible

My BIL has a Canon S90. I am totally getting one when I can afford it(not cheap). It can shoot in Manual and shoots RAWand JPEG. You can select where you are metering from the viewfinder. I played with it and it looks like a good substitute for when you can't lug around your DSLR, but still like to control your settings. Shutter delay is minimal. I had a G series and this is tons smaller and gives you much more control.

Any of the Canon Powershots I think are good. We have an older one (about 5 yrs old now) that still works great, though I have my eye on the SD1200, it's small enough to fit in my purse while my older one's a bit clunkier. The price on that one's around 200$, but there are cheaper Canon Powershots that work great too :-)

I got a Canon PowerShot for my purse, even uses same cable as my Rebel to download my pics to my pc. Got mine on base for around 125$ like a yr or so ago. I would advice you to go to Bestbuy or somewhere like and test them out. See what you like, see what feels good in the hand. :) GL

Okay..I went with this little cutie...

I used my Swag Bucks amazon gift cards that I've been saving and we have Amazon Prime Shipping so I only paid a little over 50 dollars for it :). I feel like a frugal mama :)

It's a search and win site...you use their search engine to win points and then you can redeem them for prizes..I have a link in my siggie..I always redeem the 5 dollar amazon gift cards b/c you can stack them in your account.
