I finished my first portfolio challenge (and had a blast:thumbup:) but this month I need to focus on making a minialbum for my soon-to-be-adopted nephew. My brother's family will be bringing home the little boy (4 yrs) they are adopting from China in April. I'd like to make an album of "people who already love you" and have a scrapped photo on one side and a spot for a message on the facing page. Any suggestions of premade mini-albums or brag books to speed things up? TIA!

I'd search the store for brag book quickpages, then if you buy the matching kit you can make some simple journaling ones for the reverse sides :-) Have fun!

I don't have any suggestions but as a China adoptive mom, I just wanted to say that this is such a great idea! Especially since he's already 4, it'll be great for him to have this album so that he'll get to know all of relatives and friends so much more quickly!

Thanks! Unfortunately we live in Ohio and my brother is in Georgia, so we might not even get to meet him until this summer. :( so we're really hopeful that this will help us connect!

What about using a template like these:
http://sweetshoppedesigns.com/sweetshoppe/images/cache/336aa8195c36195f67f965932e4c919c.jpg (http://sweetshoppedesigns.com/sweetshoppe/product.php?productid=19686&cat=0&page=2)
You could put a photo of the person/people in the photo slot, and the journalling right beside. It's small, so it would be easy to hold and it would be cheap to print - a couple bucks at the most, and super easy to find an album for.

That's a cute template! I can't find the file format in the description. I'm guessing it's not DIP (png) compatible, most of the templates here aren't.

No, Janet makes them PSD format. DIP files are super hard to find.
But you could use them as an idea, and make them from scratch - they'd be super easy.
