Q re: personalised siggies

are there guidelines/restriction for the size (pixel height & width, and/or file size (i know i'd host it at photobucket anyway but just thought i'd ask))) of them?

i've been planning to make my own for a while but so hard to choose the right elements and alpha that are me (cos i dont really know me, i dont scrap me and what i like changes almost daily LOL), y'know, so i keep putting it off, but it's officially on the to do list for the week and any guidelines or how u chose your alpha/elements/ sig design would be appreciated - TYSM!

I don't think there are any restrictions, just use your own best judgement. :)

I think you make it just like a LO, only a smaller size. Save it as a PNG file so it has no background and then link it in.

Here's a good thread to start with! There are also lots more threads in the depths of this forum!! You can use the search tool to find them!

i think of mine as a mini layout, minus the pictures. its fun! i save mine around 400 pixels, upload it to photobucket and put it in my siggy. if i think its too big i edit the size in photobucket. easy peasy.
 
you can always keep it on a white bg and just save as a jpg instead of a png because it will make for a smaller file sie, and our bg on the forums here is just solid white. :)
 
Justine, the guidelines are...make it beautiful and use MY kits!!! hehe Just kidding! can't wait to see it and you can go ahead and make mine too! LOL
 
when I do mine I do it like a regular layout and then crop it so that it's nice and close. resize it to about 250Xwhatever the dimension would be and save it as a PNG.

I'd be willing to make some for people, you could always PM me.
 
Along the same lines, how do you get your siggy to be in the middle of the page? Mine is off to the left side. I tried putting <center> before and after the image but it then showed the literal "<center>" on my siggy.

even though they're super simple (just like a mini scrapbook page), I'm incredibly lazy about updating mine! I do love seeing people's siggies though - you can see a little bit o' personality in each one!

it's by bren boone - has been [neglected] in my stash for ages - i like it most cos theres like 2 or 3 versions of each letter so if i write 'alyssa' i dont have the same A's and S's cos like who would cut the same two letters from a mag IRL?! (not that i write ransom notes ever LOL)
