For those of you who blog - Set-up questions

Hey girls!

I'm in need of some advice. I've been wanting to start my own scrapping blog for a while now and finally broke down and made my first post. Now, I really want to pretty things up by customizing my background and making a header.

Here are my questions:

Do designers mind if you use their products for these kinds of purposes?

How do I go about changing the background?

What size should I make the header, and is it okay to save it as a .jpeg?

Any guidance would be very much appreciated since I basically have no idea what I'm doing! :p I'm using Blogger btw.

i recommend the lazy way :p just buy one of zoe's blog kits. soooo much easier than doing it yourself.

if you want to make your own though i'm sure someone else will have some advice. as far as using stuff for this purpose, it's best to contact the designer directly and ask. some allow it, some don't.

Check the TOU of the each designer and see if they okay blog use. Some do, some don't. When in doubt, email them and ask!

Changing the background depends on the blog program you're using, each service differs. Same with the header, and yes I save mine as jpg.

I would suggest googling the particular service you use and the word customize to get some tutorials on changing up your blog.

Ooooh....good idea, Linz! I should have thought of that! Thanks for the replies, ladies! This is such new, unfamiliar territory for me. It's kind of terrifying.

Okay, so I really wanted to test myself and see if I could figure out everything on my own, including designing my own header. I'm proud to say that I sorta kinda have things up and running.

If you want to take a look (and follow me so I don't feel like such a ooooser!), check it out:

That looks great Kendall!

I'm another Zoe Blog-In-A-Box fan... because she gives you all the code needed to change the backgrounds and everything. I'm pretty much html/css illiterate! LOL!
