Hi girls!
I've been enjoying all these threads about our Yearbook. I didn't realize when I chose the pages for February just how many were from SSD gals. No big surprise, though... this is a great community with a focus I love - real life scrapping!
To answer some of your questions...
Each month I go through all of the layouts posted in the Log Your Memory galleries and choose one for each day of that month. (31 in January, 28 in February and so on). I try to choose a nice balance of pages, all with a focus on real life scrapping & journaling, great page design and image quality, and timeliness (fits the month for which it will be published).
All of these layouts will be featured in our 2010 Real Life Scrapbooking Idea Yearbook, which I plan to make available by mid to late January 2011. The book will be broken into 12 sections - 1 for each month of the year - and will be available in both downloadable and print formats.
Once I choose the pages, I extend an invitation to their creators to have their page published in the book in exchange for a $10 gift certificate to our online store and a discount on the book when it becomes available. Everyone who accepts must then sign a simple non-exclusive publication contract. Then the LYM community gets to vote on one of those artists/layouts to be that month's Featured Artist, who will receive a free Yearbook in addition to the gift certificate, and will be featured more prominently in the Yearbook.
Anyway... feel free to contact me if you have questions. And if you'd like to be considered for the Yearbook, all you need to do is join our community & start posting your layouts in our gallery! We have an open gallery, which means you are free to link back to the SSD goodies you use in your pages, which in turn helps support your favorite designers!
Thanks for all the interest... the SSD community has been very supportive of my site & it's very much appreciated!
