Swim Suits with adjustable waists?

Does such a thing exist?

My Jilly is TINY in the waist. As of last summer, she was wearing a 12-24 mo suit from Old Navy - she'll be 5 in 2 weeks. It's the first suit I ever bought her - 5 years ago!!!!

I know the top is too tight on her (width wise), but the 18 mo bottoms on the other 2 suits are too big. Like fall off too big. And the tops are too tight. One pieces look ridiculous on her - she's got a long torso and she's skinny, so I am better off with a two piece. I know toddler sizes are big due to extra room for a diaper, but can someone help me out? What do I do?

WTH do I do?!?!

hmmm, never heard of one before. I was going to suggest one piece, but you said that doesn't work... so i'm sorry, I have no idea!

I have the same problem with my daughter. I wish they would sell the tops and the bottoms separately. There are times when I have been tempted to switch out the bottoms, but I couldn't do that to someone. Have you tried the sizes that aren't made for diapers? I know that made a huge difference when I was buying pants for my daughter. The smaller sizes were actually bigger in the waist than the bigger sizes that weren't made for diapers.

I'd try a bigger toddler size at gymboree or TCP? like 4t maybe they tend to run smaller in the bottoms than a 24m-2tish b/c of diapers

My girls are all pretty skinny too but I like the gymboree suits...even the one pieces work for my long torso'd girl

I like separates for myself too..so glad adult sizes come in pieces lol

yea - i'd check out the two pieces in a larger size ... my daughter is skinny too ... gymboree stuff has actually seemed to run big on her, but she does pretty well in target, old navy and the children's place ... the bathing suit bottoms are still a little big (audrey has a bigger problem w/ the leg holes - LOL - always gaping!), but not too bad ... it's gotten better since she got out of the diaper-sized stuff ..

I would ask the stores if they have any misatched suits - people do actually go through the suits and make their own "set" based on the sizes they want.

I have to do this for my 11 year old daughter (use mismatched that is, I have never made my own combination in an actual store). The suit I bought her last year, is a small (size 7/8) - the bottoms fit perfectly, the top is way too big and she can't wear it without some adjustments.

Thankfully, my Mom has worked at a major department store for the past 15+ years (in childrens wear for the most part), and has stock piled me for mismatched pieces over the past 10 or so years, so we are set until Jenna is able to actually buy separate pieces herself (juniors/womens). And thankfully Jenna doesn't care if her pieces match (although she does have some matched sets in mismatched sizes).

You might jump up into the girls' section and out of the toddler sizes. So instead of a 4T/5T, try a 4/5 in the girls' section. They seem to be cut slimmer in the butt and hips since they're not accommodating for a diaper. That's what I did with my skinny minnie dd anyway. :)

I have never seen any...but I have boys. My boys were 4T/5T in jeans WITH adjustable waists (2 years old/3 years old) but for swimming trucks had to get 24 months...and then they look like daisy dukes...but at least they stay up!!!
