Toy Story Spin-Off and GOOD NEWS!!!

SugarBabe & Challenge Fairy
So, two years ago we started the potty-training journey for my oldest son. We bought a Bullseye, Woody, and Buzz Lightyear. Bullseye was a prize for just sitting on the toilet consistently and not fighting the idea of potty training. Woody was the prize for staying accident-free during the day consistently. Buzz was the big prize for staying dry at night consistently.

Well, it really didn't take him long to earn the first two prizes. But, the nighttime thing has been quiet a long, drawn out process. We haven't been making a big deal out of it and he has just been wearing Pull-Ups at night. But, today, he finally earned Buzz after staying dry at night for about a week! It was an exciting day!!! This mom is so glad to have one down - two to go! :)

Wooohoooo! That is so awesome! Avalynne is 2, and we are trying to get her into the potty training thing, but no such luck. Everyone tells me it takes girls until they are around 3 to get it... yikes!

Um - my son will be 6 in October. Hee Hee!

And, my 3 year old is completely uninterested. Every time we talk about it, he just says, "Mom, I wear diapers." Ugh!

Yay for him!!! Yeah, L.J. will be 5 in June and still wears pull-ups at night. But hey, as long as he can go just fine in the daytime, I can handle buying them for the nighttime. He'll get it eventually.

That was exactly our philosophy about the night time stuff. I just wasn't willing to go through a whole process with that. I knew he'd get it eventually. And, he did!

woot for him and YOU! It took a long time for my DD to become accident free...like till the 2nd grade. So I say...go celebrate!!!!!

wow! congrats! my girls weren't potty trained until they were around 3. Aidan is 3 and is capable of going potty by himself but he doesn't always do it. he wears pullups a lot. if i put him in underwear there is no guarantee he will go potty. i think he is just lazy. when he is wearing a pullup, he will tell me if went potty in it. and a lot of mornings when he wakes up he is dry. again, i think he just gets too busy playing and doesn't always want to stop to go. when we go places i still put pullups on him cause i don't trust him. we've had a few accidents at stores. not fun! i know he is close, but i don't want to push him to where he gets stubborn and refuses, lol.

Okay this thread make me feel better about my DD not being potty trained. She is going to be 3 in August and no interest in potty training. We ask if she wants to go on the potty and she says "nope." Maybe we'll hit three and we can start training.

ok just a lil fyi ... the nighttime dryness sometimes is beyond their control even when you limit liquids in the evening ... my niece (14 YEARS) has been on medication trying to help her control it ... she has been wearing pull-ups all this time (even with mom waking her up in middle of the night to go...she would still have accidents) ... dr said it was beyond the poor girl's control ... I think just in the last 2 months she has been having more success and it was AFTER they stopped the medication. The medication kind of scared me a bit ... my sis said that the medication prescribed SHUT DOWN her kidneys at night!

All mine were potty trained...think the oldest was 3 when he was finally ... the doctor told us we can't rush it...when he's ready he will be ready ... so we were a lot more relaxed about it on the next 2 kids and it was a lot less stressful for the whole family.

my DD was almost 4 before she really got it down....and I can't let her drink anything too late at night or she has an accident...but sometimes she actually gets up inthe middle of the night to potty {SO PROUD OF THAT}....but she manages to turn all the lights on in the house to do it! my youngest will be 3 in July and he has gone to the potty on his own once, but we aren't stressing it! But he is trying to learn at my daycare providers house, so hopefully sh eiwll have some success!

Woohoo! That nighttime dryness is a hard thing. My oldest dd wore pull-ups at night until she was 6, and youngest dd just stopped wearing them at night shortly after she turned 5 in December. My little guy is 2.5 and we are knee deep in potty training right now. He does great with peeing but can't get the pooping thing down. I'm so ready for diapers to be a thing of the past! :)

yay!!

I tried to potty train our now almost 6yr old when she was 2 and I was pregnant with her little sister and it backfired bad..she completely messed up her system..would hold it and got all backed up...so we eased up (she had to take miralax for about 6 months) and she finally trained when she was ready. We didn't force the issue with our now 3yr old and she was finally ready when she was just over 3years old. T will be 2 soon and I'm sooooo ready to be done with diapers. We have bought diapers consistently for the last 6 years but once again i'm not gong to force it and hope she gets it soon! haha

so I say celebrate! It's a big deal to your little guy :)

We are definitely celebrating! And, we're taking it easy on our 3 year old too. It's harder for DH to be cool about it than it is for me, but I'm the one home with the kids all day, so I kind of get to call the shots on how we potty train. :) Being diaper free is many years away for us still, so we celebrate the small things along the way. We won't have to buy any more pull-ups for now. Wahoo!

Way to go! DD was about 2.5 when she was mostly but she used pull-ups at night until she was close about 5 1/2.

yay! i'm not even trying to get mine to stay dry at night. It means more sleep for me if I put them in a diaper. Selfish or truly selfLESS, that is the question, because a sleep deprived mom isn't a good one.

Congrats!!! My oldest was almost 7 before the bedtime. I have a secret that I've shared before the Pee Alarm. My ped recommended this and I love it. Kind of pricey. I luckily had a friend lend me theirs. We are actually using it right now on my 5 year old. We've gone 5 nights with only 2 accidents. My oldest had about 4 accidents and that was the last time. These are the greatest things ever. I hope we continue on this route!! It's wonderful not having to worry about it.

Congrats! Thats great news.

My ds has always been the kind of kid who you couldn't push on anything. When he's ready to do something, he does it and is perfect from the start, no working on learning things. He just suddenly does it. It was the same for potty training and at this point, I knew it would be that way and was very laid back. Of course, everyone else (except his dad who also knew) was constantly trying to push us into pushing him. Shortly after he turned 3, he was ready. He trained instantly and has been dry at night from the start. He gets up and goes in the middle of the night even. He has had a total of 3 accidents since he decided he was ready and all 3 were with him going as he was getting on the potty (just waited a touch too long). He's just that kind of kid. lol

Wow! I'm jealous Mari! :) I don't have any energy for worrying about nighttime accidents, which is why DS has just been in a pullup at night. We didn't bug him about it AT ALL. Last week, he started announcing that his pullup was dry so we started keeping track. When he had stayed dry for about 4 nights in a row, he wore just underwear during the night, and he has been doing great! It's so nice to think that I'm done with at least one kid. Now, just two more to go (and probably one more after that, but I'm not worrying about the unborn just yet :)).

Oh, yeah, I just stopped putting him in pull ups two nights ago JIC. We had such issues with sleep with him, that I still feel tired! lol Figured it was easier to change a pull up then jammies and sheets if we needed to.
