ugh..I need a swimsuit. *cry* I haven't worn one in years. lol But we are going to the beach in May and I am trying to buy things we are going to need in stages so it's not like tons of stuff at once, lol Anywho..where does one go to find an affordable swimsuit that will cover my problem areas..no string bikinis here, lol

oh gosh, good luck. I had a baby 9 months ago and ive been looking for a swimsuit ever since. I gave up and bought one of those swim shirts and a pair of boardies. Not exactly sexy!

Bathing suit shopping has got to be my least favorite kind of shopping ever. And given what I feel for most clothing shopping, that's saying something.

I had to get a new suit last summer because we took the kids to a water park on vacation and after we got there I realized I'd forgotten to pack mine :cursing: . But I managed to find one at Target that was reasonably priced and camoflauged pretty well.

oh that is cute Jess, but I don't think my chest could fill it out...like where I am supposed to have super hot cleavage I would super hot swimsuit sagging, lmbo!

LMAO Crystal... :D

For THIS reason (cause thats my issue too) I love VS suits.. that tankini has lightly padded cups, so you dont have to have big uppity girls.. :p

oooh good to know Jess!!

And thank you Megan!! That site is super cute!!! Looking around now and they aren't even insanely expensive like other places!

I didn't think I could pull it off either {I weigh 170 lbs and am only 5'4} and it actaully was very flattering :) but I do like those suits Meg shared!

that's cute too Angie..but I dont' think I can pull it off...*sigh*

Megan..do you know anyone that has bought from the limericki place?? I think I might buy this one with the yellow bottoms
http://www.limericki.com/browse.cfm/bailey-tankini-top/4,77,1,0,0.html

but according to their chart I am between sizes and don't know whether to go down or up, lol

That suit is soooo fun! I only found the link tonight... haha! I just asked Sarah on FB if she's ordered from them, so maybe she'll chime in here tomorrow!

Oh that is CUUUUUUUTE!! And I have never ordered from there, so I cant say for that brand in particular, but I've always been told you NEVER want your swimsuit too big, because they stretch a little when wet, hence that sag, that looks so icky.. LOL... If you are close in between sizes, I'd probably order down, but thats just me :) and I feel overly opiniony tonight.. ;)

I'm a HUGE fan of tankinis. I always buy shorts like the yellow ones you posted or the little skirts. my thighs/tummy are my prob. areas...and my little tatas. :p

I just bought a tankini from the clearance section of Lands End for $10 each piece, so $20! Can't beat that! And since I was able to buy separates, I was able to accomodate my...er... problem areas.

I hate shopping for bathing suits but I love going to the beach. So this is an issue for me LOL. I was at JCPenneys yesterday with my daughter and saw some adorable tankini's. They had a drawstring for the sides of the top so you can pull them up a little if you want or leave it down. They had matching bottoms in skirts, boyshorts, a fuller coverage bikini bottom and one that was less coverage (no string bikinis). I would never buy one online or from a catalog because I like to see what I am buying and know that I will like it. My last bathing suit had a tummy panel (it was a one piece) and it worked really well holding in my tummy. I am right around 165 and 5ft 5 and I think it all depends on how you are built on what type of suit you should buy. Try doing a search online and see if you can find some help on buying the right swimsuit for your body type. What would be cool is if you could find a place that has a virtual dressing room that you could use a picture of yourself to see if the suit you like would be something you would actually like on you LOL

I SWEAR by Victoria's Secret swim suits. They have 849302849320 different options, and I find them relatively reasonable. I've bought lots of stuff from them, and it's really good stuff that will last several seasons (which to me, makes it worth the slightly higher price for some options).

Highly recommend Lands End... check out the overstocks on their site... you can pick up a really nice suit for a good price. And what I love the best is it keeps it's shape (even after a lot of washings!!)... keeps it all sucked in. ;)

you guys are awesome! Thank you so much for all your help! I have to order my suit because we have ZERO options around here. :( So I am just trying to do it early so that I have time to exchange if it doesn't fit. lol

Last summer I needed a new one, too, (I was still wearing my bikini maternity one..lol). I ended up finding a really cute affordable one at JCPenneys.

ETA, I also recommend the takini, so much more flattering than a 1 piece.

Tankinis are the only way to go! :) I also always get board shorts or a skirt. No one needs to see that much of me -LOL - Plus, I'm a lot more comfortable running around, building sandcastles, swimming, etc knowing my butt isn't hanging out for the world to see. :)
I've purchased from VS before and the top was pretty good - love a little padding in my suits cause I need it. :) I'm off to look at all the links now! :)

I totally agree with you...I think Land's End makes the BEST suits-they wear well, wash well and I've had the one I bought for almost 6 years and it's still going strong!

Oh I love the Limericki site... thanks for sharing! I really need a new suit and just haven't even wanted to look because I'm so sick of all the string bikinis out there!LOL!

I am another one for Lands End. Their suits are well made (nice and thick in the bust area so no showing of body parts when wet) and affordable. I love their tankinis.....I need the extra coverage in the thigh region. LOL!

Also, they have a sale right now. Promotion Code: SPRINGSWIM25 PIN: 1242

Add me to the club for Lands End! I've had my suit for 3 years and it's still going strong. I love their separates - I bought a pair of black bottoms and then two different tops so I could alternate and feel like I had two different suits. They are pricey but well worth the $!

I bought a Lands End tankini for our cruise last year (based on recommendations from here!), and I was impressed by the quality. The fabric is wonderful. I have a large bust, and it was nice that they come in bust sizes rather than dress sizes. And if you sign up for their email, they're always having a sale with free shipping.

I agree with everyone. Lands end or old navy are my fav place to pick up a bathing suit. Well before my problem spots became problem acres lol.

you are getting so many good suggestions :)

i agree with those who mentioned miracle suit (my fave - i LOVE the way they hold you in :) heehee) and lands end - those are the only two types of bathing suits i get any more - for the last 10 years or so! they are a little expensive - but we are at the pool/beach A LOT - so it's well worth it to me :)

the lime ricki site is adorable too :)

Ugh just the thought of putting my swim suit on makes me want to cry. I looked ok in hawaii but since we got back I have seriously put on a few lbs and feel so bloated I don't even want to think about swimwear!
