These Phoenicians LOVE their photos! I have proof!

I wanted to let you all know that while I have been visiting Phoenix, I have been obeying one of their posted laws. They really want to get it across to people just arriving in their beautiful city ... because the signs are posted repeatedly on the highway leaving the airport...

Alas...I leave the beautiful cities of Phoenix and Sun City West where it has been around 70ish the whole time...back to snow and cold in Kansas City today. I've been picking grapefruit and oranges from the trees in the back yard of my mom's new house!

Every person I met here have been among the most friendliest people I have ever met! I will truly miss this place! Thanks to mom's bff and dh (Kathy and Gary), to the Phoenicians, and the people in Sun City West for such a wonderful time!

I am home...so tired...but glad to be home. Be looking for some awesome Arizona sunsets in upcoming layouts! It is so absolutely beautiful there!

Photo enforcement? I want a job there :p Seriously, I've never seen any signs like that. Sounds like a wonderful place to visit! Glad you had a good time :)

lol i never have either.. ^_^ that's crazy.. though we get the ones about aerial survelience.. :p those are creepy.

That is awesome. I want to visit a place where taking photos is enforced. Maybe then I won't get so many weird looks when I pull out my camera in the weirdest places.

Those Photo radar zones have caused much problems down in Phoenix. One guy once to took an ax to one of the mounted cameras! If only they meant they were enforcing something fun like taking pics of my kids!

we have those here in Florida too. It means if you run a red light you get a photo taken of your car's tag and you get a ticket in the mail along with the photo of your tag. Here it is enforced when you run a red light or you run a toll without paying it.

oh yea the ticket here is 229 dollars. I know some people dislike them BUT being involved in two accidents because of people who do not obey stop signs and red lights I am all for it. If you do not run red lights you dont have anything to worry about

What EXACTLY are they used for? I figure "my take" on the sign is not the official use of ... ;)

lol! They take pics of you and your license plate if you're speeding and you get a ticket in the mail. ;) They seem to be all over our state now... even have one in my small town now. The ones on the freeway aren't red light cameras, obviously. I believe you trigger the camera at 11 mph over the speed limit... or so I've been told.

An officer in one of the camera vans was murdered last year. :( People have also been putting post-its and silly string over the cameras. lol

OMG I am appalled! You have got to be kidding ... because they were in a van with the speed light camera??

Well that is strange if those signs were for speeding on the highway that I saw ... we were going down the highway in a LOT of rush hour traffic and suddenly we saw a flash ... the friend driving the vehicle we were in said "now why did that go off? there is NO WAY any of us are speeding...we're actually crawling" ... so I wondered if it was a speed limit thingy ... bet that person who was photographed will be fighting that ticket! ...unless you can get one for going under the speed limit?

he thought the person was in the HOV (is that the correct acronym?) lane and maybe it detected only 1 person in the car??

we don't have those here thank goodness...and have never seen them
I would have thought it a place for tourists to take a cool photograph..lol..

Sometimes they test the cameras... I dont think it would be because of the HOV lane though.

They have caused lots of problems here... There is this group of people that make videos on youtube and they go around and post signs and warn people about the photo radar.

And Sharon... didn't you just love rush hour here? Ya it is not fun at all!

And you did not hear this from me but they technically have to serve you with the ticket. How can they prove you got the notice in the mail? Not that I am speaking from personal experience or anything :)

Interesting ... never heard that about youtube.

Well I think we hit it luckier than I imagined ... it didn't seem that bad ... but I am **NOT** looking forward to Dallas rush hour later in April!!

LOL, you know, I am totallty off topic here, but I could use that sign when I want to take pics of reluctant kids!

SMILE for Mom, or else!!!!:p

here in Florida the ticket is mailed to you by registered mail with signature required upon receipt of the letter. It could be different in other areas. I know this because my husband ran a toll when he did not have change and there were no change/receipt lanes open and he received his ticket about a month later.
