Just curious...

How much to do mix-n-match your kits??? I find that if I need to use a particular color (like orange) I end up pulling orange stuff from a variety of SSD kits.

How about you?
 
Sometimes I will use a flower or ribbon or alpha or something from a different kit but for the most part I am a kit scrapper. I just find it easier to do it this way. At one point in time I did grab from a variety of kits but the kits from SSD are so large I find I can easily complete a layout using just one kit.
 
For the most part, I am a total kit scrapper. Sometimes I need 1 or 2 things that aren't in a kit, then I go searching, but I hate how long it takes me to find what I want, so I don't very often.
 
If I have a certain vision as to what I want on the page... then I will gather from all different kits. I find myself using the SSD store's search as an extension of ACDSee... I don't have everything tagged yet, so I'll search in the store for "bear" and see what pops up and if I have that kit... which 9 out of 10, I do... LOL! :blink:

However for everyday scrapping, I'm like the others above... I'm a kit scrapper and if there is something that I want, I'll hunt for.
 
I'm not very good at Mix and Match-I have a hard time matching things exactly-unless it is acrylic or something similar...that goes with everything! My hat is off to people that can pull from numerous kits and make stunning LO's!

Same here, I very rarely use elements from different kits. :)
 
I am very much a kit scrapper and I'm totally ok with that. :)

Part of my problem with mixing and matching is that I'm super picky about color, to the point that when I edit my photos, I often open up a preview of the kit I'm using just to make sure the colors will blend well together. But because of that, I have a really hard time pulling from other kits because for me it's not just an "orange ribbon" that I'd need, it would need to be the exact right shade of orange to work. And I'm way too lazy to recolor. The only items I regularly pull from other kits are alphas or neutral papers like whites, kraft, or lined papers. Otherwise I just stick with the kit at hand.

But, in my most recent Hawaii layout, I pulled an orange ribbon from Zoe's Happy Go Lucky kit. That was like a huge mix and match victory for me. :D
 
I'm pretty much a kit scrapper too. I might pull one or two little things from something else, but usually I am scrapping for my ct's, and using their kits. I'm too lazy to go around looking for other things on my ehd, and then...I'd have to list all those credits!! Yep...too lazy for that!
 
I use to NEVER do it because I was always afraid it wouldn't match. I have gotten braver in the last few months. I am starting to do a little mixing. Not much.......I am still trying to get more brave! :)
 
I' ve used to mix elements from different kits when I just started digiscrapping, because I was using mostly freebies and sometimes I liked just one or two things from each kit... now that I use just kits I buy, I never mix and I am totally a kit scrapper! :)
 
I am for the most part a kit scrapper as well. If there is something I think I absolutely need that isn't in the kit, then I will go on the hunt. But that seems to take me so long to do. Of course, if I had everything tagged/organized in ACDSee like I should, then it wouldn't be such a problem. :p Until that happens (which will be never at the rate I have been buying new kits), I will stay a kit scrapper!
 
Im with the other gals here, mostly a kit scrapper. If I need something (such as an arrow, star, etc) I might pull from another kit.....but its pretty rare.

I'm a kit scrapper, for sure, but I do have a small collection of stitches and alphas that I'm building... and often, I'll pull those out to add to it. They come in such a variety of colours that I can always find something that matches!

Other than a few items like that, and sometimes a frame or something, I stick entirely to kit scrapping!
 
Thanks for sharing gals! I think as my collection of MARVELOUS SSD kits grows I'll be mostly a kit scrapper too! Here's an example of one of the LO's I did using several kits (all from SSD and a template from Cindy)

 
if it's a CT layout, i tend to stick to mainly kits...but if it's just something I'm doing for me...I hate being restricted to just one kit. I have a very hard time not mixing alphas and what not. some of my credit lists are ridiculous.
 
back when i first started digi scrapping and all i used were free kits i found online i mixed and matched a lot. but mostly i kit scrap now, maybe pulling some things here and there from various kits. its easier to credit one kit than trying to remember everything you used, lol.

This is me too. I really only scrap with kits, pulling the odd item from other element packs, like date stamps or buttons. I just cannot get things to look the way I want, when I'm pulling from different kits. I do however, totally admire anyone who can do that!
 
I totally mix & match, nearly every layout I have is one big ol stirring pot or SSD goodies (mainly La's, haha)
Since being on a few CTs I've learned how to use a single kit - but seriously, I find that hard and restricting.
 
Funny - before the LO I did tonight I would have said I'm pretty much an exclusive kit scrapper...but I did this speed scrap and it asked for some things that weren't in the kit I selected to use (Libby Weifenbach's Lacubrious) so I ended up using stuff from a bunch of different kits & designers. The credit list was crazy long.

But for the most part, I'm a kit scrapper. :-)
 
I LOVE to mix & match! Some of my layouts are SO mixed up I have a credit list at least 10 lines long, lol! Since being added to a couple DT's though, I've found I'm becoming more "1 kit at a time" kind of scrapper. Also add in the fact that I probably have 200 kits on my HD, it takes wayyyyyyyyyyyyy too long to sort through everything looking for something similar (and I have it all organized in ACDSee too, but it still takes forever).
 
I am mostly a kit scrapper but I have found myself mixing and matching more as I browse galleries for inspiration.
 
I know I'm a hybrid girly so a bit different but I very rarely mix things up. I tend to stick to just one kit and even in my traditional papercrafting I stick to the same collection form the same paper manufacturer so I wouldn't ever mix My Minds Eye with Cosmo Cricket - it just seems wrong!
