ok..I am not sure what happened, but after I start a new LO...I can save the .TIFF file, but when I got to save it as a JPEG {to upload and print} I don't mget the option to save it that way...my only choices int he drop down menu are :
TFF
PNG
RAW
PSD
PDP

so can anybody tell me what might have gotten turned off or how I can fix it?

What version are you using? Maybe that will help someone figure it out....

Have you tried saving as a PSD ... then can you save then as a JPG?

I just tried a quickie experiment ... and I can save as TIFF followed by a JPG...

I am using CS2...and I have never had trouble doing it before, but for some reason between yesterday and today I can't do it :(

I have PSE, and I have to save as a psd first, then do File>Save for Web. In that part I can save to JPEG.

I can do the save for web, but I want to save the large JPEG from PS and it's not letting me pick that as an option....

Make sure you don't have the text box activated, or one of the other tools. That you are on the point/move tool. Then try saving.

I get that sometimes when I haven't flattened. Even if the layers are merged into one, they aren't necessarily flattened. So, maybe try that? If not that, I'm clueless. :)

It's done that to me before and I had to just save the tiff, reboot and then I was able to open the tif and save a jpg

That happens to me all the time when I try to "x" out of a file. Instead, I click File>Save and it lets me save the jpg.

When that has happened to me before...it is because my color space was 16 bit instead of 8 bit, so check your color space. Then change it to 8 and you should be fine if that is the problem!
