UT girls...

I am thinking of moving to UT in the next yr. I am thinking of the Ogden area since I have a friend living there but also one in the Murray area too. So any recommendations? My family isn't too excited of this idea but i need to get away from AZ and have always been in love with UT :)

I live in Davis County, which is just south of Ogden. I couldn't recommend this area more!! I absolutely love it here! It is close to both Ogden and Salt Lake but still has a kind of small town feel. I grew up in Centerville, hubby grew up in Bountiful, and we currently live in Kaysville - all in Davis County. If you have any more specific questions, feel free to ask. And, if you do move up here, I would love to meet up. Heck, I'll even help you unpack. :)

Thanks Lyndia. I am really excited to make this move, though my parents aren't haha and I may take you up on that unpacking idea! ;) Thanks for your input!

I'm not currently in Utah, but spent the majority of my life in Utah. I grew up in Davis County, in Layton, and loved it. My in-laws still live mostly in Layton, we also have family in Roy, in Provo, Kaysville, Syracuse, West Haven, Ogden, Sandy/Murray, and Woods Cross...so we obviously all love the Davis County area. IF we move back there ever, we're looking in the Kaysville/Layton area mostly since we love the area and how 'small town' it is while still being super close to Ogden and SLC when you need something else

i dont live there but we pass through Salt Lake when we drove to Cali and its SO BEAUTIFUL there! living in Indiana you don't get a chance to see mountains like that. amazing. much better than pretty much flat Indiana lol.

I wouldn't live in downtown Ogden per say. However, there are great little town surrounding Ogden. I love it here!!! I would say it depends if you want a more city or country feel. Murray to me would be more city then the Ogden area. Less crowded!!

I don't live there, but I have step-family in Ogden and went to visit them once. Its really beautiful there.

And I totally know what you mean about getting away. I have been thinking about that recently, too, but have no idea how to even go about finding a job, etc.

I agree that just north of salt lake is a great area!!

I also really like the area just north of Provo.... American Fork, Saratoga Springs, Lehi....or even a little farther north in like, Riverton. That's a nice area!

However, I don't live in Utah and when I did, it was only in Provo... but those are the areas we visited and liked best :)

I am in a suburb (well country suburb) of Ogden. I agree not to live right in Ogden, but the surrounding areas are great. Utah really does have a wonderful atmosphere and is pretty. I grew up in Davis county, and there are some nice areas there too, but a bit more pricey to buy a home in some parts of Davis County than in Weber County, which is where Ogden is.

When you put UT girlies, I was hoping we were going to have a get together!! :) We planned one a few months back and I got sick so wasn't able to do it. Would love to visit with any of you UT sweeties!! :)

I would highly recommend Ogden over Murray any day. I lived in Murray and I hated it. It was SO crowded and traffic was always a problem. Bountiful is a beautiful area and I would move there in a second if the hubs would. He grew up in Utah (Spanish Fork) and doesn't ever want to go back. =(

I had a college roomie from Kaysville and I loved it when we went there for Thanksgiving. Very nice area.

I will be there from June 19th - July 10th, so if you guys decide to plan something soon, let me know. I will mainly be staying in the Provo area, but I have a friend in Clinton that I am planning on going to visit.

Wow thanks for all the input ladies! I will defiantely look around the area before I make any set choices!!

I love north Utah County too. It's so pretty and a great mid point between all the beauty of Southern Utah and the bustle of SLC.
