View Full Version : Is this enough, or should I bring more? *Total NOOB*

I have no clue how long it's going to take me to do this stuff... just a background I used to do rubber stamping card making all the time and even taught it so for me card making is pretty fast and easy BUT, I've never done hybrid, so I have no clue if I'll be as quick at that as I was the rubber stamping card making, KWIM?

I'm doing the Archiver's Scrapbook Mania tonight with some girlfriends and decided not to bring the laptop and instead get my hands dirty and do some hybrid stuff... I have my blocks for the portfolio challenge all ready to go, now it's just a matter of cutting and pasting and mod podging... and I have 3 cards printed that need to be cut and assembled...

Do you think that will be enough for the night or should I put together a couple more cards? I'd probably rather bring home unfinished projects than looking for something else to do while I'm there.

How long will you be there? That would give me a better idea of whether you have enough or need more.

5 hours, I think

the blocks will be time consuming. you'll bust out the cards. i think you need to bring a little more. maybe just make duplicates of the cards you are making but use different kits? that would be easy to throw together to print. definitely bring some blank cards & some sentiment stamps/ink - worst case you can purchase a couple of sheets of pp and make some cards.

I would bring more cards too. Even if you don't get to them, you'll have them printed and waiting for you when you have time to do them.

Thanks Celeste... that's what I was thinking too... I'm so excited... this is so perfect for all those mini-kits in the QAs that have been sitting in my unused folder :D

I agree with the others... I'd bring more cards. Worse case scenario is that you will go shopping for embellishments. I could wast the whole 5 hours just doing that... :D

Thanks Col, Rebecca and Joana... I just printed up 3 more cards to make, YAY!

and Rebecca, I'm the same way... I could totally spend the whole 5 hours browsing the store and shopping, especially those $1.99 bins and the clearance stuff.

now to get over my feeling bad that we requested a table near an outlet and I'm not bringing the laptop... although, I suppose we can switch tables if someone really needs an outlet.

Oh stop, that's not a big deal! If someone needs the outlet you can switch, it's not the end of the world. :)

yeah, I know... I was just made to feel bad last time when they screwed up and split our table up and we asked to switch so we were all at the same table... the people we switched with didn't mind it was the employees giving us a hard time... totally didn't make sense why it was a big deal to them but apparently it was... *rolling eyes*

What a bunch of jerks. So unnecessary. What do THEY care where anyone sits??

Anyway, have a blast hon :)

I'm just jealous about the whole "Archivers" thing. I've never even SEEN one of those stores, let alone shopped at one OR been to a crop at one!! Trying not to hate you!! LOL.

I haven't either! I've just seen them in magazine ads and am blown away by the size of them!!

Jen and Jaedyn, you totally need an Archivers... I love the access to their die-cuts and punches... and just having the tables to spread out and work.

I had so much fun and of course didn't finish all the cards because we were just excited to get together and gab all night... it's about to storm here so it's too dark for me to take pics, but I'm LOVIN' the alphabet blocks and the cards that I did finish.

Thanks again for your help!
