what kind of camera are you using a dslr or p&s?

I just looked at your gallery and it looks like you're using a flash which is overexposing parts of the photo, you might want to try to diffuse the flash a bit

here's (http://tracireed.com/teamblog/?p=3066) a little tute I did about diffusing the flash... I usually try to use natural lighting and no flash if I can with my pictures and I think that helps, though I know that's harder with a p&s, there are ways to help diffuse the flash on a p&s too.

I use a point and shoot. I turn off my flash, and use the macro setting for close up. Here's a great tutorial on set up/editing in PSE. I have 2 OTT lites that I got great deals on at Joanns and Tuesday morning to give me the natural light I need as I photograph my projects alot of times late nights.

I've got an Olympus 840, just a cheap digital camera - I know how to zoom & click that's my limit when it comes to taking photos.

I always have the camera on auto flash. Have now gone back and took a better photo minus the flash.

Thank you
