If you are a "prayer" person, please, do it today for my city. We're living a terrible situation here. In fact a non-official civil war - for a long, long time now - but this week, specially today, things are bad in a way I've never seen before... I live in a dangerous spot of the world. Years upon years of bad government led us to this situation. Now, some serious security measures was taken by the police/government and the bad guys resolved to respond: armored fighting vehicles, from the Second Gulf War, are all over the place. Cars are being setting up on fire in the streets. It's the epitome of CHAOS. This is the city that will be hosting the 2016 Olympic games! How's that possible?!? I'm afraid. I'm kinda in shock. This is wrong!
Who lives here, feel a bit of the violence and fear in a everyday basis, this is not exactly a new thing for us, but nothing like that. Feel that way... I'm just so sad for my city. afraid for me, my family and my child. :(
Be thankful today for living in a safe place. I wish I could feel this way.

So sorry to hear this Giseli! Stay safe! I'm definitely sending you my thoughts and prayers! ((HUGS))

Having lived through a coup in another Latin American country, I understand a little of your fear. Prayers for safety and a quick resolution!

((((HUGS)))) I hope you'll be OK and nothing hurts you. You're in my prayers and so your town and country!

How scary!! Sending prayers for the safety of your family and that peace will come to the city.

Thank you all for your kind words and for your positive thoughts and prayers. I really appreciate it. :)
We're still in need of them. So, please, if you can keep sending them it would be great. We're still scared and kinda on a hold. Media is sensationalist and we don't know if we can trust on all of they're saying. On the other hand we pretty much know about the situation of crime and violence in our city. Local government is receiving help from the army now. They're on the streets. I can hear and see the helicopters all day 'cause I live near the 'ground zero' - about 30' by car from my home. Yesterday I could hear many shots. Totally frightened by this.
DH was told to stay home today and work from here. I couldn't send DD to school yesterday and today and we don't know about next week.
The city is in silence and empty day and night which is not a normal thing, specially this time of the year. So sad to see and live this:

Oh Giseli!!! I cannot even imagine what that would be like and the terror there would be along with it. Please try and keep in touch with us ... just know you are in our thoughts and prayers!! I hope you and your family will be safe!

Oh my God, Giseli! I had no idea about the situation in your country.. I'm so sorry to hear this! I would be very frightened as well. Sending you big hugs and all of my prayers, I wish there was more I could do! xoxo

Thanks girls, God is answering our prayers right now! I know that for sure! :)
+30hrs w/o any confirmed attacks here. Praise the Lord!
Things are still messed up, but everyone is hoping for the best.
Big thanks to our incredible police and army. I didn't know they could be so good like that! They are doing a great work. Think about the most dangerous spot of our whole country which actually means here's one of the world's most dangerous places to be right now. Almost any deaths in controlling all this. *applause*
