DirecTV Issues

I had no problems up until earlier this month. I keep losing signal. I've only had them since late Aug.
2x the techs have come out and said that the screws weren't tight enough in the dish on the roof. ummm Ok genious Thanks  and 3 days later I'm back w/no signal the weirdest thing is the local & dh's beloved Spanish channels still work! but nothing else!!! :glare:
I'm at my wits end and they've assigned us a Case Manager and I know it's not their fault per say but how many x's are they going to tell me the same crap, I told the guy yesterday listen to me they need to come with all new equipment tomorrow or just disconnect the crap and they can take it with them when they come out, seriously I just couldn't be nice anymore  It's 90 days 2 days ago not sure about the cancellation and stuff but I'm so irked having to call them for the same issue for the 3rd yes 3rd time! :cursing:

Anyone had any of these type of issues with them?

oh no! :( we had directv for 3 years in chicago and never had any problems - so i'm no help. i miss it now - we've got comcast cable and i don't like it as much ....

I've had Directv for 10 years and never had that kind of trouble BUT I would definitely call in- they'll credit you for days you DON'T have TV and probably throw in some free stuff too. I've always had good luck with the customer service people and you should have some compensation for loss of service.

The only trouble we ever had with DirectTV was losing our signal when it was windy or when it snowed because the dish got covered with too much snow. Our neighbor's installer was a genius and purposefully mounted their dish near a warm area of the house so the snow would melt more quickly... ours put it right in front of a tree! DUH! So when it was windy the tree would blow around and make our signal dodgy. We finally got fed up and switched to Comcast and have been happy campers for the last several years. I will NEVER go back to dish again.

Dana- jajaja my sis hate's Comcast that's her provider.
Stephanie-I'm gonna wait till tomorrow to see what happens but I am going to call and tell them to credit my acct.
Val- yeah that's totally understandable windy days, snow days, rainy days but none of this applies and that's why I'm so upset... arrrghhh we'll c the kids are totally bored out of their minds they've played outside, they are Wi'd out, Internet' out and the board games are boring now too  sighhhh NetFlix can only do so much :glare:

If they've already been out twice, call them and tell them you want your equipment replaced, and the dish placed in a brand new spot. If the screws keep coming loose, there is probably something wrong with the holes they are in, and moving the dish might help that.

The other part of the problem is that the guys that come out aren't directv. They are independent contractors that Directv hires, which sometimes causes a disconnect. When we first moved in we had a few problems in the beginning, but we've always had really stellar customer service experiences. They'll (usually) do just about anything you ask if you threaten to cancel your service and go to someone else (like FIOS, which is getting a lot of converts).

Colleen that is exactly what I said someone called me about an hour ago to confirm date and time to come out they are like we are going to send them with a 24 check list and they have to do all of it he'll have more exp.. bla bla bla. I said he could be the person who made the product, I want everything replaced and that's it:cursing:
I know it bites they are contractors I got the name of the one's that are coming out. They are trying to keep me by threatening to charge me an early termination fee, I am so put off seriously I could care less right about now that is the least worrisome thought in mind right now! :o

We had issues in the summer with the same type of problem but it was our local channels and the family channel that always went out. It was crazy and we really had little help after numerous calls to directv. In the end, my dh finally went up and positioned the dish differently and the issue was solved. Funny though, the customer service kept telling us our boxes needed to be replaced even though we knew they were fine!
