OK my husband and I were having a discussion about music. Im not going to say who said what but who is better: The Beatles or Elvis Presley?

I don't think you can compare them. Seriously, totally different and both amazing in different ways.

Depends on what you want I guess. I am a huge Beatles fan. John, Paul, and George were all great musicians and wrote amazing music. Ringo hung in there with them. Elvis wasn't that much of a musician - IMO - but he sure was entertaining. I voted for the Beatles.

So funny. My hubby and I talk about this often. He grew up in an Elvis loving family and I was in a Beatles loving family. I swear it is a HUGE debate. Who knew? I am Beatles all the way. I love my Liverpool boys! :) I even go to see Beatles tribute bands and totally swoon. Yep.....The Beatles are my boy band! LOL

OK I chose Elvis. My husband said the beatles. it is kinda like my husband telling me that Garth Brooks is the best country music singer and I totally disagree on that. I think it is totally about who you prefer too. Dont get me wrong I like The Beatles. Im not saying they are not good...just that Elvis is great :D LOL

before I met my husband I dated a guy who looked like Elvis (younger pre-chubby Elvis LOL) I swear he had like the exact same smile. It was so adorable

Nifty Elvis tidbit -
My step-grandmother went to school with Elvis in high school. She said he was nasty (like hygene wise) and a lot of people didn't like to be around him. She also said he had the WORST acne and it has always baffled her how his face was so smooth later. lol

I'm another in the neither camp. I guess if I HAD to pick, I'd say the Beatles...but I'd take Led Zeppelin over them any day :)

I chose the Beatles because I like them better than Elvis. But, if I had my rathers, I would choose Toby Keith!! ;)

I can't stand Elvis, and I love The Beatles. But that says nada about quality, it only says something about my own preferences.

From the more objective point of view it seems to me that The Beatles were able to evolve and change their music beyond their playful beginnings, which is something I think is important for an artist. If you play the same thing for 20 years, you lose as an artist.

But then, since I don't like Elvis, I don't know that much about his work to judge his artistic development.

I'd say that there's no real answer to your question, Jessica. :-)
