Today I got two new additions to my family! My boyfriend got me two African Side-necked Turtles for my birthday!
The aquarium is all set up, with gravel on one side for them to bask under a uva/uvb light, and water on the other. They also have some fish to eat (it's hard for me to think of fish as turtle food and not pets! EEK!)
They seem to be adjusting well. We're still thinking of names for them. Echo isn't sure what to make of it--- he's acting all depressed and deprived because we were all excited about the turtles today. He'll get over it once he realizes that turtles can't sleep next to me the way puppies can!!!
