Desktop?

What are the standard measurements/etc for creating a desktop image? I've used other designer's pre-made desktops before, but I'd like to try my hand at making my own for the new year. So... help?

Mine is a wide screen & I make mine at 1024 x 640 so I have a black edge so I can see my blinkies.

SP makes hers at 1280 x 800

If you're jsut doing it for yourself, you can rt click on your desktop, go to properties and go to setting. That will tell you the dimensions of your screen.
