Just my luck

I got up this morning after sleeping in til almost 9am (which is WAY WAY WAY late for me). Kinda lazed around, called Dell to order an AC Adapter for dh's laptop, watched the kids play, synced our ipods, caught up here at SSD, etc. Basically just goofed off. I just got up and was starting to clean when my phone rings...

"Hi, is this Libby?"
"This is Ashley with King Realty Group."

(do you see where I'm going with this?)

"I've got another realtor who would like to show your home this morning."

Let me stop here and remind you that it's been since OCTOBER 11 that my house was last shown. On any given day since then, I could've had it ready in less than 30 minutes notice.

Not today.

Because we had Christmas at our house.

There are dishes all over the counters.

Toys on the floor.

Crap everywhere.

It's a nightmare. Christmas THREW UP in my house.

So, I told her that if she could give me til 3pm, I could have it ready to show. Unfortunately, that didn't work for them as they were out showing houses NOW. So, they scheduled for tomorrow at 3pm instead. I just pray that they don't find what they're looking for before tomorrow!!

I'm not happy.

I am sooooooooooooooooooooooo ready to move as my dh is sick of commuting, and it's costing us a fortune in gas. I so want to get back home to our family. The market is so dead around here that every showing is critical.

So, I'm off to clean now. For real. Dang it.

Well, it turned out to be a pretty sucky day. I busted my rear to get it ready to show... then they called back and canceled. I'm sure they found something today, so now I'm KICKING myself for not having my house clean enough this morning. I *know* it's the day after Christmas, but still, it just stinks. I keep wondering if I just blew our one chance to sell this house.

Oh, Libby...hate to hear things didn't work out. If you're still in the area, I completely understand about the housing market here. It's rough! Hate to see you moving though...we never got to meet.

dang it, I'm sure sorry about that Libby. We had a very frustrating long go of it when we sold our last house. We even missed out on what I thought was my dream home but our Realtor kept telling us what is meant to be will be and everything did turn out for the good in the end. Here's to better luck next time. Got my fingers crossed that they decide to take a looksee in the near future.

Awwwwe sorry they cancled! I was just coming to see if you got a buyer. There must be a reason that it is taking a while! :) I am a firm beliver that if something isn't working out now, then there is something better coming along in the future. I just have a hard time remembering when it is me in that kind of situation. :)
