When do your kids get done school?

So the summer bedtime question got me thinking that my daughter is probably the last one to get out of school in the world - LOL. She goes until June 21 this year because we have 3 snow days to make up. :thumbdown: She does stil have field day and her step-up day to the Junior High but they are still doign full-throttle classwork.
 
Abby was out last thursday, the 26th, and goes back august 16thish (i don't remember for sure but it's around there)

Wow June 21..when does she go back in the fall?

DS goes to a private school..so we get out earlier than the county schools. His last day was May 9 and he goes back Aug. 8..so we get 3 full months for summer.
 
My son graduates tonight, and my two daughters have school until Thursday and then they are done for the summer.
 
The last day for us is tomorrow. They go back to school on July 25th, but we also get two weeks break in October, December, and March.
 
We aren't out til June 21 either. Might be the 22nd, I'm not even sure LOL

We go back the Wednesday after Labor Day.

It's just as well for us, we have a late summer.
 
The official last day of school is June 8, but the boys are done already!! JP has to do a read-aloud with his teacher tomorrow (over the phone), but that's a whopping 15 minutes of our day.
 
Our summer here in the UK is much later in the year. The school I teach in breaks up on July 15th and we go back on September 6th. This week we are off on holiday for half term then we have another 7 weeks!
 
I think when you go back to school is somewhat regional. In the northeast and mid-Atlantic, it's pretty common to go until late mid or late June and go back just after Labor Day. I may be wrong, but I think warmer areas of the country tend to get out earlier and go back in August.

My elementary schooler gets out June 21st (and that hasn't changed due to snow days) and my preschooler will be out a week earlier. And our last day is 2 or 3 hours, too.
 
It's always been June 23rd the official last day around here, even when I was little. Kids go back officially the Tuesday after labour day. It's a good thing, since summer is late here. :thumbup:
 
She goes back on August 31 - always the last Wednesday of August.

You are right Rachel - up here in the tundra ;) LOL the summers start later but the past few years the weather has been wonky and May has been bringing 75+ degree weather - it was 87 here yesterday, which is so unusual! Anyhow, DS went to schools mostly in So. California and South Carolina/Virginia (we were stationed at Camp Pendelton, Camp Lejeune, and Quantico a lot) and he was always out by mid May.
 
My boys got out last Wednesday (the 25th), which is actually a little later than usual for us. They go back August 2 or 3 for a half day orientation and then start back full time the following Monday I think.

I've lived in Connecticut, New York, Massachusetts, and Virginia. They've all had summer break from June 20-something until just after Labor Day, so the May to August summer break seems so early to me!
 
We're done! Luke's last day was last Thursday the 26th and my teacher day was the 27th. School starts again for the kids on August 17th.
 
This friday is our last day, so this week is pretty much field trips and parties. I can't remember exactly when they go back, but it's either the last week of August or the first week of September.

exact same thing here in WA!!!!! works out perfect for us! But my DD doesn't graduate until the 13th of June!
 
I believe we are out on June 21st. I really prefer that school doesn't start until after Labor day, I'd much rather have a long summer with the kids. It's still cold here. So it definitely works in this neck of the woods!

See, this is what I would prefer! We get out June 21st but still have to go back BEFORE Labor Day weekend :thumbdown:
 
after Labor day works good for us cause my bday is the 27th of Aug and if we want to do somethign as a family {vacation, etc} it works out great!
 
Our county's last day is June 7, though originally it was June 8. Not sure what happened there except we didn't take as many snow days as the neighboring counties so maybe they rewarded us. :) Neighboring counties get out June 10 but should have been out June 3, due to those pesky snow days.

We go back Aug 24th. Neighboring counties go back Aug 18 I'm in VA, we always go back before labor day so we get longer fall & spring breaks
 
Technically the girls last day of school is the 30th, but that's just for an hour to get their report card. Their last full day of school is the 24th.
