Moving from Vista to Windows 7

My computers (both of them) are giving me fits. My desktop has a hardware issue (not a software/hard drive issue thank goodness) and now my laptop is causing me so much grief.

I was going to format the whole thing, but I decided not to, because I think I'd like to upgrade to Windows 7 and get rid of the RAM hog, Vista.

I'm sure other people have upgraded, so I just want to know if there's anything I should be on the look out for? What do you wish you had known before you did? I'm running CS5, so I don't believe that would be an issue.

TIA for any help!

I bought a new machine with Windows 7 because my old computer had a virus. I managed to save almost everything off the old one, but forgot my fonts! So my advice is - don't forget to save your fonts before format your machine!

I haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaate Vista. and I  windows 7. A lot. There were a few things I had to get used to but they were minor.

I thought I loved vista. Then I switched to Win7. Now I know true computer love. my computer has NEVER run this smoothly. Not even straight outta the box on vista.

I have vista on my home machine (and never had any issues with it), and JUST got 7 on my machine at work. I am a FAN of 7, BIG TIME.

I never had Vista - went from XP to Win7, but I am another one that loves Win7. I skipped the whole Vista on purpose and when I got a computer back in the Vista days I made the guy put XP on it (a family friend who builds computers). He agreed with me and said that Microsoft is famous for being an "every-other-product" company; meaning they come out with something great every other try - XP was great, Vista sucked, Win7 is great, etc. Same thing with Microsoft Word - 2007 sucks and I went back to 2003.
