I'll be home from work for the weekend, and it can't happen fast enough. I stayed home sick with a stomach bug yesterday, and I would LOVE to stay home again today. Unfortunately, we've got a horribly busy schedule, and I really need to be there. So, I'm gonna go tough it out til noon (when we close for the day).
I see a lazy weekend full of scrapping and chatting in my future. :)

Ohhh goody!
I love my weekends so I can chat with you Libby, I miss ya during the week.
I have a THREE DAY WEEKEND this weekend...so I'm pumped too, but I have to get through today and tomorrow.
Its gonna be a rough few days too because I have one junior who has PRE-ACT testing, and for those of you that don't know my profession (High School Emotional/Behavior Disorder teacher), I can tell you that my students don't like to do in class work that takes 20 minutes. You can imagine how they feel about two entire days of standardized testing. I'm sure that my days will be long and full of sass and a major attitude problem.
TY George Bush for your wonderful No Child Left Behind legislation, I wish you would come right here and do my job for me today, I bet you would be in front of Congress in 20 seconds rethinking your stand on standardized testing.

I'm pretty sure I'm gonna fall asleep at my desk today. I haven't gotten a good night's sleep all week! :(

woot Libby!!!
and standardized testing IMO is for the dogs :P One thing I love about homeschooling in Ga, kids only have to test every 3 years. These tests give my DD ulcers...

Whew! I survived! What a long day (for only working 6 hrs. LOL!)
Now I'm getting ready to go sit in the car line at school, but then I'm FREE for the weekend! YAY!
And Shannon, I TOTALLY feel for you. I *hate* standardized tests. My dd is a very very good student, but she has had to learn how to take tests. It still isn't her forte. I don't think those tests are a true representation of the child's abilities at all. Heck, I graduated high school with a 4.0, and I always ALWAYS freaked out at test time. they're just hard on everyone.

NY has always had standardized testing and it's a joke, especially with NCLB. They just dumb down the tests so everyone passes on through. How does that help anyone??

Enjoy your weeked break Libby!
I have 3 more days off until I have to go back to work. After a long 5 week holiday it's going to be a shock to the system! I've been practising waking up earlier to the alarm this week but haven't succeeded yet LOL

Don't even get me started on NCLB! To me that is a joke and a half.
I taught 7-8 special education in a self-contained classroom so I never had to deal with testing, but I sure am hating it with my own kids.

Have a great weekend Libby and everyone else!
I'm out of town tomorrow, the girls I coach in figure skating have a competition all day Saturday. They have been working hard, but we missed a lot of days because I was sick, or storms. So I hope at least a couple of them win something.
I leave after school tomorrow, and back on Sunday.
