NSR: Difference Kindle and Nook???

Sorry, but I really have no idea!
I have a Sony eeader....are Kindle and Nook brands or is it a different file format.

Because I saw LYM is there in two formats and I am wondering if I could read it on my eeader too

I know Kindle is MOBI not sure what nook is. Kindle can also read PDFs and epubs (as can sony reader I think?)

I don't know much about the Nook at all

I don't have either, but my MIL got a nook color for her birthday and she said the biggest reason she chose it was the Lending Library feature. I guess you can get books through the library if your library has that feature.

We have an ipad.

The states have Library lending capability for Kindle now. If the local one doesn't you can usually use the state library

I just looked at LYM to see the file types and when I clicked the links, it looks like it's saved in formats just for the Nook or the Kindle. Those are two different formats and it doesn't look like either works for a Sony. Here is the wiki page on formats, if that helps- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_e-book_formats

And I was just thinking....I can read pdf on my reader....so I could download the normal downloadable version!
