Need some prayers and positive thoughts

My little guy Eli woke up this morning throwing up and hasn't stopped since. I finally took him to the ER about 6:00 this evening because he was getting so lethargic and couldn't keep anything down. They did tons of tests and found out he has pneumonia. They are keeping him at least overnight in the hospital and are giving him IV antibiotics. My husband is doing the overnight shift with him so I am home to try to get a little sleep but will head back there in the morning after I get Isaac off to school.

If you all could spare some prayers/positive thoughts for my little guy I would appreciate it. He is sooo sick and it breaks my heart to see him laying in that bed in the hospital. :(

Prayers coming your way. It's horrible seeing our little ones so sick and not being able to do anything to make them feel better.

Hope you have better news this morning! How old is he? Do they give pneumonia shots to little ones? Just curious as my youngest is a teenager and the doctor's office has not ever suggested them.

Prayers coming your way! We went through the same thing when Landon was 2 (almost 3). Hang in there! I hope he gets better soon! ((HUGS))

Oh - so sad! Hope he is feeling better today and that you can all get some sleep. HUGS!

oh dear...:( I hope he starts feeling better soon. It is never a good feeling seeing your child so ill and in the hospital. P&PT's headed your way. Get some rest when you can.

He is 18 months old. They don't give "pneumonia" shots to little ones, but they do give vaccines against some of the bugs that can cause pneumonia.

They are thinking today, that he may not really have pneumonia, rather because he was so extremely dehydrated that his lungs started to collapse and that is why his chest xay looked abnormal. Even at that, his white count was elevated, so there is some sort of infection somewhere. He ate a little jello and dry cereal this morning and a little applesauce for lunch. Waiting for the doctor to come back this afternoon...still hoping that he can go home today, but we'll see. Thank you for all the P & PT!

oh wow he is young!! Goodness ... he can't even tell you all you need to know to help him either when he feels sick. Hope he continues to get better and is home soon in your arms!

Thank you everyone!!!

He is home! He is back to chasing the dogs and causing mischief!!! Once he got fluids in him, he bounced back pretty quickly! It is so good to see him smiling and hear his jabbering again!

So glad he's feeling better. Isn't it amazing how quickly they can bounce back? Or even when they're still sick, how much mischief they find themselves in?
