What time....

do your kids go to bed and get up everyday? I think Abby is not getting enough sleep and she is turning in to being sort of a bully at school {in kindergarten} and I wonder if some of her problem is NOT getting enough sleep.....just curious what you other moms do? I never had this issue with my older 2, so this is something new to me and I am trying to figure out how to tackle it :(

Take my stats with a grain of salt...I think me and my kids are the exception to the rule!! :D :D

My 3 youngest (7 y/o - 1st grade, 3.5 y/o - 2 day a week preschool and 2 y/o) are in bed every night (7 days a week) at 7:30PM and they generally get up between 6 and 7AM. Also my 2 year old still takes a nap every day from 12:30PM till 3PM.

My two older girls (13 y/o and 9 y/o) are in bed every night (7 days a week) at 8PM. My oldest gets up at 6AM and my 9 year old gets up between 6:45AM and 7AM.

In kindy, my kids went to bed at 7:30 (may have even been earlier) and got up between 6-6:30.

My kids are now teens. It's 8:20 pm and I have the two oldest already in bed. They probably won't go to sleep until after 9, but they're in bed. Required to be in bed at 8:30 on a school night. Even my senior. They are up between 5:30 and 6 in the morning (due to needing to get 3 teens through the bathroom before leaving for school at 7:15 am).

Mine go to bed between 7:30 and 8 and get up between 6:45 and 7. Abby is in 2nd grade and JJ is in Kindy.

Our kids (10, 7.5 and 4.5) are all supposed to go to bed around 8:30pm every night and have to get up in the morning by around 7:30am. The girls are usually in bed on time and get to sleep relatively fast but the youngest is a night owl like us and he's usually the hardest one to get to sleep at night and the very last one up in the morning! He is definitely grumpy if he doesn't get enough hours of sleep. And he's at that age that he refuses to nap, except those days he's really grumpy and then its usually later when he sleeps and then wakes up for awhile and then finally goes back down.

the only thing is she gets to sleep in until 8 am because my oldest {18} gets them up for school and out the door to catch the bus by 835 am...so really the 2 {10 & 5 y/o} get to sleep in for the most part LOL {the 4 y/o is up at 6 am to go to daycare :p}...I don't have ANY issues with my 10 y/o{and he is usually up before the teenager is up and dressed and ready for school} and most nights he is in his room and goes to bed and gets up on his own and NO ISSUES at school, so this is new terrirtory for me for her not being so nice at school :(...pretty much brought me to tears when I had to talk to my neighbor {Abby's friend is in her class and she is NOT being nice to her} and her teacher tonight:( I am soooooooo at a LOSE of what to do....:crying:

Mine are mostly in bed by 8-830 and up anywhere between 630-715, all 3 of them. Somedays they nap, somedays not, and then they 'get' to go to bed around 730-8

I have a 5 year old night owl. He goes to bed around 9:30 (though he's normally in bed by 8:45) and gets up at 6:40. He's not in school yet though, so I think next year we will have to work on going to bed a bit earlier. Its hard though since we are both night owls. I should add he takes at least a 2 hour nap everyday still, too.

My 9 and 6 year old have lights out by 8pm and are usually up by 6:20 every morning, not that they have to be up that early....they've always been early birds.

My three youngest are 5, 4 and 1 and are total early birds and it drives me batty!! LOL

Jason and Seth (5 and 4) go to bed between 7:30-8:00 and are up around 6:30-7:00 but that cannot leave their room until 7:00. There are times they are up even earlier than that. They did get to stay up until 9:00 during the summer IF we were outside playing with friends, but we just started that this past summer.

Derek (1) goes to bed between 6:45-7:00 and is up for good around 6:00...sometime sooner. He is teething so he wakes up A LOT right now. He takes two naps every day
(1.5-2 hours each).

Our oldest son (19) had a lights out rule at 10:00 when he was in high school and HAD to get up at 6:00 to take a shower and get ready for school.

We are a family of night owls as well. I try to get them in bed by 9 to 9:30 but they are often awake til 10. They wake up around 7:30 to 7:45 in the morning. They are almost 3 and 4 1/2 and both go to preschool/daycare.

Cheyanne (11) varies on her bedtime. During this time of year, (starting November 1 and through mid April) on Mondays and Wednesdays, she has travel basketball practice until 8 p.m. and we don't get home until 8:30. She then finishes up any homework she didn't get done (she has school team practice or a game every day also). But she's usually in bed by 9:30 at the latest.

On nights when she only has school practice or a home game, she's usually in bed by 9.

On nights when she has an away game, she sometimes doesn't get back to the school until close to 9 but always gets her homework done on the bus or while the boys team plays, so again she's in bed usually by 9:30, sometimes 10.

She doesn't even sleep in on the weekends - occasionally she'll sleep until 8 on the weekends but she's usually up around 7:30.

She gets up every morning at 7:00. She functions well, gets good grades, and isn't crabby when she wakes up, so we're good

My kids get up at the crack of dawn, so between 5:30am & 6:15 at the latest. They always have so I put them to bed as early as possible. Now that they are 8 & 9 that means in bed, story told & light out at 8:30. It was 8pm up until this year.

Ella has completely stopped taking naps at almost age 3..she has quiet time, but she is still exhausted by 6 pm so for now that's her bedtime and then she sleeps til 6:30-7 am.

Avery is 6 and his bedtime is 8pm on school nights...sometimes 7:30 if I can tell he's super tired. He wakes at 6:30-7 also. On weekends/holidays we'll let him stay up a little later...although he's still up by 7 am no matter what.

Harry is in bed for around 7.30/8 (depending on behaviour that day) but he can stay awake until past 9 sometimes, he has trouble going to sleep. He usually wakes around 7.15 - 7.45. Oh and he's 6!

Jack is 10 next month and he goes to sleep around 9 and is up at the same time as Harry, they wake each other up!

My first grader and Pre-Ker go to bed around 8PM and get up anywhere from 5:45- 6:30. I also think they don't get enough sleep but haven't been able to rectify that.

Mine go to bed usually between 8-8:30 depending on the day's activities, and then are up between 6:30-7:00 accordingly. Course on those days we let them stay up late (9:00-10:00) they get up at 6. So we try not to do that too often. Every kid is different and even among families sleep affects them differently.

What time is she going to bed? Kindergarten is also hard because the kiddos are now "expected" to be "on" pretty much all day long with only 30 minute "rest" time. At least here. Even then the teacher is reading to them. So my oldest was beat and cranky at the end of the day until 3/4 of the way through the year! Then he was fine!

ce is def crotchety when he doesn't get enough sleep so i wouldn't be surprised if that's what's making abby act up at school. I def don't like to deal with him those days :p super emo and super mean :p

That said- ce's always been a cruddy sleeper. He gets about 9 hours of sleep on average (and that's been our goal for several years). Every kid is different .. every kid needs a different # of hours. Sure there's those guidelines but ce's never fit in them :p If he goes under 9, hes unpleasant, so I'm happy as long as he gets at least that.. otherwise-- i gave up that battle long ago. He was never a 12.. 14.. 15 hr sleeper even as a baby. I figure his age is finally getting close to catching up with how much sleep he gets :p lol

All three boys (almost 4, 5 and 7) go to bed around 7:30 p.m. However, my older has trouble falling asleep, throws tantrums, sleep walks, gets up 3-4 times during the night and does not fall asleep before 8-8:30(he has ADD and has always been a horrible sleeper).

My two others are good sleepers, but are often bothered by my older. If not, they will sleep from 7:30 to at least 7:00 a.m. But since my oldest wakes everybody up, they are up at 6-6:30. The bad side of this is that they are often tired and cranky, so on week-ends, we go on car rides to get them to nap a little.

My 8 year old goes to bed between 8 and 8:30 and gets up at 6:30. My 13 year old goes to bed between 8:30 and 9:00 and gets up at 6:15. My oldest will stay up later and sleep as long as possible on the weekends. She's making up for the years and years she didn't sleep as a baby and young kid I guess.

My 3 year old goes to bed at 7pm and wakes up at 7am. My 2 year old goes to bed at 6:30pm and wakes up between 6:50 and 7am. My 1 year old goes to bed at 7:00 and wakes up at 6:30am. She does nap from 12/12:30pm to 3/3:30pm every day.
