Bummer :(

*tried to edit title, because after posting here, I realized I was shooting the messenger :o

So my brother's bday was in January. I was so stumped on what to get him forever! I finally decided on just a little something from the NBC/Chuck store online  lol, he's a big fan too. I wanted to get him a Buy More hoodie, but it wouldn't let me order them because they were out of stock, and didn't know when they'd come in. So, I went for a Buy More coffee mug for now, since he's a big fan of coffee as well :p and figured I'd get the hoodie some time later. Coffee mugs were out of stock as well, so they told me they'd be shipping on feb 27... Fed Ex guy knocks on the door today with my mug!! I was so excited lol, that it came early - I hadn't even gotten a shipped notice yet.

This is what I found when I opened it

What stinkers. I called NBC customer service, and they were having a hard time putting through a re-ship order, since they don't even have in their system that it even shipped yet  So, anyways, I guess I'm not out wait time, since they weren't even supposed to have shipped it yet, but it sucks that I got all excited, only to be let down. I just have to wait for them to sort it out, and they said they will make sure I get another one. Just don't know when, and to call back if I don't get a re-ship notice in my email soon.

Bummer.

ughh that sucks. I think that Fed-ex is partly to blame but it really does not look to be packed up very well either.

True, lol, it's only in bubble wrap with 2 other air pockets in there, but it looks like something heavy was put on top of it, if the mug went through the inside of the box. I wonder if the next one will come in the same packaging...

to be honest I would email those pictures to the company and tell them you believe the way it was packed it could have contributed to the mug breaking. Id hate to see you get another mug like that packed the same way and broken KWIM? I mean at the very least it should be in popcorn and have the bubble wrap or maybe be in a larger box with some of those plastic bag things they fill with air to cushion in addition to the bubble wrap. I can't really tell from the top picture but it looks like it is really close to the edge of the box with just one layer of bubble wrap?

Yea, it was a thin, long box, so the sides it just had bubble wrap, and on each end were one of those big air bags, and nothing else.

That's not great packaging on their part. Did they at least put 'FRAGILE' on the exterior of the box? If not, I'd say it's not a FedEx issue at all. If they did, then they both were at fault.

For our anniversary in December, I ordered my husband a new tv for his game room. It came cracked with the insides coming out.

A week later, his Christmas present arrived, also broken. The box had been stabbed through with a fork lift right where "fragile" was written.

I love online shopping, but think their is just SO MUCH being shipped now that they no longer pay attention.

Wow, that is just crazy!!!

Thanks for posting girls - I just had to vent lol. I checked out the box some more, and it doesn't say fragile at all, or even glass  So I guess it's more of a NBC shipping oversite! I'm glad they didn't ask me to ship it back, there wouldn't have been anything left of it by the time it got back to them :D

At least I didn't end up venting to the poor Fed Ex guy - though I would think smaller packages would end up at the top of any stacks of packages... and not have a chance to get smashed lol.

Oh, well, like I said in the op, at least I'm not acutally out any wait time yet, since they weren't supposed to ship yet. Hoping that gets sorted out.

Hopefully you can keep the first one and maybe glue it up for a pen cup for him? And also have one as a coffee cup. Hope the second one is packed better!
