I found out something funny yesterday, both me and the other woman laughed cause we had NO clue...
Mason has been in a study for "steroid-induced osteoporosis", he was enrolled just a few days after he was diagnosed with leukemia, because they wanted to research the effects of the steroids used in his treatment on his bones (to see if maybe they need to lower the dosage of steroids, or if they can). So anyway, for the last 3 years, we've met with the same nurse every 3 months. We were the first family enrolled in the study, so the nurse and I became pretty good friends, chit-chatting when she was in visiting new families and she'd tell the new families to ask me any questions since I was the first mom to start the study and knew my way around.
So yesterday she calls to set up our 3 year appointment, which usually is a big ordeal, but we managed to figure out a date almost immediately. And since I live out of town and we're finished his treatments now, we don't go in to the city very often, so she sends all the paperwork home with me for the next 3 months and I just bring it in, filled out, for my next appointment. She couldn't remember if she gave me all the stuff last time, so she asked for my email address so I'd be sure to have it (and can just print it off as needed). So I give her my email address, and she immediately says "Oh. My. God. Are you a scrapbooker?" because my email is the same as my username (ditzyscrap).
And we started to laugh. Who knew, that in all this time that we've known eachother, one of our biggest passions NEVER came up?! She's a paper scrapper, and card maker...and obviously I do digi. But I told her that I was a paper scrapper for about the last 10 years and only gave it up when Mason got sick and I didn't have the energy to deal with all the stuff. So she wants to know what digital scrapbooking is and so I'm supposed to bring her some of my stuff to show her what I've done at my next appointment. Guess I'd better print off some layouts and fill up an album or two...hehehe...
