OK, I'm NOT a shoe person...let me tell you that, lol! But, we're all buying new shoes that are comfy for walking around all the parks down in California and I really like this style (probably not these exact shoes, but in general):
http://sterlingshoes.net/imagematching/images/large2/ST13150.jpg
Um...so...a couple questions...
Are these style comfortable for walking around in? And (this is the silly one)...do you wear socks with them, or barefoot?
The answer to the second question will really influence my decision...I want sandals because I don't like shoes, or socks...I like my feet feeling a bit more free...
Help?

I would not wear socks with those, and I think they would be comfy for walking around!

I wouldn't wear socks.. they look good for walking.. they're like the ballet shoes.. but they have a strap and a decent sole.. so you should be ok :)

I think they look really cute and comfy! And I wouldn't wear socks with that style.

definitely no socks, and make sure you get them a week or so before you go, so you can break them in. lol I have a pair of really cute ballet flats that have one strap across them, and the first week, they killed the back of my heel/ankle area while breaking them in.

I just wear my flip flops everywhere when it's warm. And even when it's not LOL!

Definetly no sock kinda shoe!

THOSE ARE CUTE!!!
Now, please tell this 30-something mom what you would wear with those adorable shoes. I have NO sense of style whatsoever. (What I really need is for the What Not To Wear People to pay me a visit.) LOL!!!

Sketchers are supposed to be very comfortable, but I know I bought a pair and got such nasty blisters, that I returned them. Sorry I am no help there

Yep, no socks, and if you are walking all day, you'll want to make sure they have decent arch support. Like Sonja said, break them in before you go. I've made the mistake of wearing new shoes when at a park, NOT fun!

I love those!! I'm with the no socks on this one too but for me personally I think for walking around as much as you are going to be you might wanna consider maybe the Dr. Scholl's version of those. They have great arch support and are a softer leather so they break in faster.

I love Sketchers shoes! When I'm working, I stand on a concrete floor for 8+ hours and I always wear these shoes-
http://www.shoebuy.com/skechers-bikers-step-up/164670
I have them in black and in brown. They are perfect for work, they are perfect with shorts or jeans. I wear them with skirts too. They are my all-around basic shoe. And no... don't wear socks with them unless they are those super low low no show socks. I'm actually on my 3rd and 4th pair of those shoes. I liked them so much that when they got too old, I just bought the same thing. :)
I think you'd be pretty happy with any of the "biker" style of Sketchers. Here is a HUGE list of the shoes because they come in all sorts of styles. I will say that mine has a velcro strap and I like that way better than the elastic straps because I don't like a tight feeling on the top of my foot that the elastic gives. Anyway, here is the list-

Kaylie has a pair similar to those and she wears them with pretty much everything. She does wear socks with hers, but she likes the low anklet style socks so you really don't see much of the socks anyway. I wouldn't wear them with socks, but I'm a no socks flip flop kinda girl though lol!

OK, cool...thanks! I was going to wait until next weekend to buy new shoes, but I kinda think that I'll bug DH and we'll head in tomorrow and see what I can find. I saw a pair of sandals in the WalMart flyer that I like too, but when I was in WM the other day they had like NO selection of spring/summer shoes.

I'd wear low ankle socks with them. I love wearing open toe shoes, and I like the style you showed, but I HATE having my feet sweat! I love Sketchers though, got their boots, tennis shoes and flip flops - all are really comfy!

OMG Ditto!! I HAAAAAAAAAAAAAATE my sweaty feet, and just the thought of sneakers without shoes makes me crazy. No can do for me.
Flip flops however, I LOVE. I bought a new pair of Teva's when we went to FL in February and I heart them. Teva's and Reef's are the best thong flip flops ever.

i was going to mention arch support too. but then again I tend to have plantar fascia problems.
I thought Crocs were the footwear of choice for Disney?

I never buy shoes if they don't have enough arch support - I get shin splints if I am not careful.
And Mimi, Crocs are everyone's footwear of choice nowadays, but personally I can't stand them, lol. They might be comfy but they just look awful! LOL!

I say no socks, but I also say no to Skechers. I bought a pair last year and after just three wears, my big toe was bleeding heavily. It became infected and I lost my toenail. The shoes fits me just fine, but Skechers are just evil that way...the pair before gave me blisters out the wazoo. Down with Skechers!

I have a similar pair that have the crossover straps, and they're pretty darn comfortable, except that when my feet got hot as the day progressed, the straps got tighter. Then when I went to loosen them, they weren't very long so the Velcro would come loose and I would almost lose my shoes!
If you want a recommendation, I really love every pair of Aerosoles (http://www.aerosoles.com/) I've ever gotten. :) Plus, I use inserts in almost all of my shoes because of my darn high arches.
HTH!

I'm am sooooooo going to be in the minority here, but I bought a pair of Sketchers in that similar style a few years ago. I wanted to have comfy shoes while I taught school and was on my feet all day. They weren't comfy. :( I would definitely wear running type shoes to the parks, but that's just me. Maybe the design of these updated Sketchers are better than before - I hope so, because they are DARLING! :)

Reef's for sure! I don't think I've ever had a better pair of flip flops than Reefs. I have a pretty wide foot, so I can't wear anything with a band across my big bone that sticks out - hafta keep that area open. Flip flops are the best!!!

Since you pretty much have to wear these w/o socks, I say "no" to all day at Disney in these shoes. If it were me, my feet would get hot, sweaty, puffy, and then get blisters. They're ADORABLE and I want them, but not for walking all day. I'd get some Tevas or Reefs--you'll be free as a bird but not nearly as sweaty!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE those shoes!!! I am so wanting a pair right now - I saw no socks - but if you are a monk type person - they have the socks that barley cover your toes - they are like 1/3 socks... they have them in sports stores like Big 10 and they would work
