So I posted not too long ago how I love my Inspiron laptop. I still do....the only thing is the monitor is making me see things. My pictures look bright and clear as day on the laptop, but if you look in my gallery (http://www.sweetshoppedesigns.com/inspiration/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=212), the last 6 pages look really dark, and the pics look yellow. There is a darkish "film" on the screen of the laptop that makes everything look "off" from what I see on my desktop puter, I don't know if that's what's throwing everything off.

Does anyone have any recommendation on how to correct this? Or at least make it look more "regular"? I've played with the brightness but it still makes the pics look brighter than they really are. Do I have to tweak the colors somehow?

I have no idea how to help you. I can't even imagine what is causing it, I just am commenting cuz I hate it when I have like fifty views on a post and no one comments. ;)

Do you notice the darkness when you're running on battery power instead of using the AC adapter? That's a power save feature that makes everything look darker on battery. You can adjust the settings for that by clicking on the little power icon down by your clock.

Other than that, I don't have any idea, i haven't noticed that problem on mine. i don't THINK my layouts look different scrapped on my laptop (do they???)

Maybe google monitor calibration and see if that helps?

My Dell was like that too, I was making sig tags at the time, and I had a few "wow, that's bright, can you lighten it a bit" comments LOL. I thought, gee, it looks fine to me. Then I looked at it on Tony's desktop. They were horrible! The monitor was so off from reality LOL.

I didn't do anything with it, I just suffered, and tried to guess at the colours, then I bought my own desktop. I'm sure there must be a way to calibrate it though!

I had the same issue, until my hubby pointed out to me that when I am running on battery power, it darkens to save power. So now i just sit mostly plugged in, or crank the brightness when I am running on battery.

LOL, thanks Kellie for taking notice :)

Col - great idea. didn't think to do that, I'll try tomorrow. i just finished a LO and I'm pooped!

Libby - I noticed that about running on battery vs electric power, but even when it's plugged in it looks fine till I look at my pages on the desktop PC. I try to match colors between the digi stuff and the pic, but at best the pics still look yellowish.

Wow, a direct email address! Hmmm, I might take you up on that offer jocelinsmommy!

Thanks for all the suggestions! I'll let you know if I fix it!
