Those of you who don't have one, but want a good tool for punching holes (through chipboard or up to several sheets of paper) and setting eyelets...you NEED to get a Crop-A-Dile. And I just read that Costco is carrying them for only $25 including over 640 eyelets...that's a steal of a deal, since if you bought it all separately it would cost over $85!
I love mine...don't know how we did without them for so long, lol!

I'll have to check it out at cosco..I almost bought one at archivers in the case with all the different eyelets and stuff and it was 34.99 and in pink, purple, or lime green!!

I bought mine the first year it was out (when the only color they had was pink, lol), and I paid $27 plus shipping, JUST for the tool...no eyelets (which were I think $4.99 for a package of like 24 or something).

Me too, lol. I just new it had to better than pounding away on an eyelet only to have it come out looking messed up. It was totally worth it. Plus, I already have a zillion eyelets, I don't need them with the tool too, lol.

i was at Costco today and did not see these . . .
but I already have one. The green one with nifty case.
but i don't know if I'm really using it correctly . . .
Michaels has them 50% off this week, at least here in Canada anyway. However, that comes with nothing other than the Crop-A-Dile, so I might check out Costco and if they have them I'll take mine back to Michaels since I haven't taken it out of the package yet.

i've had one since the fall. but yeah. it'd been sitting in a box since the day i bought it. haven't done much paper stuff lately, can you tell? but, i took it out when i was arranging my new craft room. so hopefully, it'll get some use. plus, with all the hybrid stuff coming out, i can see myself using it.
and mine is pink. i LOVE pink. see, if it came in purple, i'd have it in purple. but yeah. pink works too.

Yup, they're on sale for 50% off in the States this coming week - 4/6-12. :) TONS of scrapbooking stuff on sale, I was there tonight and picked up something I've been wanting for a long time with my 50% off coupon- a Making Memories Embellishment Center- the guy was like WOW, you just saved $40. Um, yes I did. LOL Love my Crop-a-Dile too!

I love having my stuff on the wall T. I got 2 metal and glass shelving sets at BJ's like a year or so ago. I have all my primas, and all my cricut cartridges on them, and there are hooks that I hang altered stuff and ribbons on. It's awesome.
That settles it, I'm totally buying the cheetah tomorrow. I've been asked to make invites for a friends bridal shower, and I need to go and look at the Martha Stewart lines to try and coordinate them with the favors. I love when I can combine stuf flike that, lol. I totally win.

Kellie, I use it on pretty much every project I've done where I need to punch holes, lol (if you look at the pics in the instructions in any of my workshops, you'll see my pink handled crop-a-dile in there, lol).
I've also used it to make more holes in belts which have become too big. LOL!

I got a Crop O Dile and a Cheetah at Michaels along with oh 10 rolls of ribbon for like 25 bucks..not too bad IMO since the Crop o dile is that itself lol. They have some solid ribbon 6/$1 so I snagged a bunch of it :)
You have to use the 40% off Michael's coupon for the Cheetah it's not on sale but it only ended up being 7.79 after the coupon and the Crop o dile was 13.99

I ordered my Crop a Dile from JoAnns online a couple of weeks ago when they had a promo on it. It arrived, but I haven't opened it or used it yet. I also got the Cheetah tape runner to try out in lieu of Mod Podge. I'll be using it all on a few albums probably tomorrow!!! :)

I bought a bunch of stuff and it was almost all on sale. I read Stacy Julien's "Big Picture Scrapbooking" and "Photo Freedom" so I bought stuff to reorganize into that system. So I can't complain too much. I need to resign up for their circular. I don't usually get it now for some reason.

Our Michael's doesn't have the sales flyers in store either. And I didn't think they mailed out their flyers either, I always get them in my Sunday paper. I may have to check into that cause it would be great if they do! That's a good price on ribbon so I may have to go check that out! I'm trying to build up my ribbon stash for hybrid projects!

Which reminds me, I almost forgot... ours had stacks of leaflets with a 50% off coupon at the register that will be valid from April 12 - April 18, so look for that one in flyers, mailers, at your Michaels or wherever!

Actually Col, there's a huge sale at Michael's this week - 60% off! I think it's 60% off the crop-o-dile too.
HOWEVER...if you want to buy a crop-o-dile I'd wait until the Crop-O-Dile BIG BITE reaches Joann's and/or Michael's! It reaches 6" into the page whereas the first version only reaches in about an inch! It retails for $39.99.
I'm having patience until it reaches the stores so I can use a coupon. I heard Hobby Lobby has them already but there isn't one close to me.

Yes I already have my crop-o-dile, I was jsut annoyed that I forgot my coupon. I DID get a cricut cartridge for $40 though, which is awesome. It's the baby one, perfect for these albums I'm making.

Woo hoo!!! Picked me up one today at AC Moore, they didn't have any coupons there at the store and as I was swiping my card the girl informs me you can print them at home from their website and print as many as you want!!! Okay, silly question from someone's who's only ever been a digi girl (and now is making lame attempts at hybrid) - what do you USE an eyelet for?
ColleenSwerb
04-08-2008, 07:39 PM
To attach things together. But it leaves a hole in the middle. When you use the bigger eyelets you can punch a hole in the chipboard or something, and then thread ribbon through it.

Joan - I called Michael's yesterday and spoke with a manager of the scrapbooking department. She said she isn't informed of new things that are coming to the store to stock HOWEVER she is familiar with the trends at Michael's and since the crop-o-diles are 60% off it is a good sign that it's because something new is replacing it! Hopefully it's the big bite!
I have the eyelet setter too but I get really tired and fed up with it! And it can't punch holes in thin metal and acrylic like a crop-o-dile can. So I'm willing to purchase the big one to give it a whirl! I'm really into acrylic lately so I'm sold. Thank goodness I have patience though and can wait!
Btw - yes, you can print AC Moore coupons and Michael's takes Joann's coupons and vice versa. (They just generally have to be from the newspaper, not printed off the computer.)

I'm really tempted to place an order somewhere and get some acrylic albums. SO tempted! I might do it when I order some American Crafts 12x12 albums for my new system. That is a good point about chipboard or metal or acrylic and the big bite.
It's a good thing Jordan ignores my scrap area for the most part, lol

Oh geez, now I have to go too! Thanks for enabling, Bree! I just read about it on Ali Edward's blog too - it now comes in green!
Thanks Mikkel!
I wonder if it will be the Big Bite and the green regular Crop-A-Dile that comes with the case. When I checked We R Memory Keepers site last night, they had a case with the hardware available in pink so that if you'd purchased one before you didn't have to miss out on the case. It was marked as a new item, so maybe they're phasing out the Crop-A-Dile that's sold on its own. What to do... what to do.... the Big Bite is, well, BIG, lol... is it worth having both of them?
Ack, what have you guys done to me?! I wasn't going to get into hybrid in the near future, at least not until I get my crafts area unearthed from under the mountains of disorganized crap that has taken over our basement! Now suddenly, between Michaels coupons/sales, I have a Crop-A-Dile, a Cutterbee Mini and a Cheetah! :p
MikkelPaige
04-09-2008, 11:46 AM

Thanks, Col! Hmmm, well price should keep me from getting carried away and running out and grabbing some right away. I'm sure after I see a few finished projects I'll get tempted though.

Yes Joan - you surely need a BIG cutterpede. I had the fiskars cutter when I first started and it's not that good.
The Cutterpede comes in PINK and white now. It's AWESOME! But I can't afford it full price and I've only seen it at my LSS in that color (I've seen a lavender color too). So I have the green one I got for 40% off at Michael's.
I am LOVING my Acrylic Albums. I have a 5x7 album of my cruise trip almost complete so I'll post photos when I'm home later.

I got mine at my LSS, HOWEVER I did just order a whole bunch from ebay from Go West! I would do that Col...but order a few (enabler) so it's worth the shipping! I got 2 8x8 wedding albums (one for me, one for my best friend's wedding 2 years ago that I promised to scrapbook and still haven't), one 8x8 that has every other page split into 2 (it's really cool) and one other I can't think of (I think?) and then just a Baby Zoo Animals tag album where just the cover is acrylic for my friend who's sister is having a baby so she didn't have to pay shipping.

I stopped by my LSS on the way home, just for kicks. It still sucks, and they only had 1 acrylic album and it was way over priced. So I skipped on that. But I got some cute things for the baby albums, so that's always good.
They had those BoBunny albums we were talking about, and they wanted almost $9 for it! Screw that, lol! Scrapbook.com has them for $7!
