Did you Midwest gurlies feel it this morning?!

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,351698,00.html

I was so glad to find out it was an earthquake this morning when I was getting ready for work. I thought I had LOST MY MIND when I woke up to my bed shaking beneath me! *lol*

It was 5:41 am on my alarm clock, and I was jolted out of my dream by the bed moving like someone was grabbing the mattress and pulling me back and forth on it. I could not figure out what in the world was going on. A storm? The wind? A burglar under my bed?!

No damage here in Indy that I've heard of, so that's good. Hope y'all that were closer to the center are okay, too!

I am outside of Chicago and did not feel anything but I was dead asleep at the time...I just saw the blip on Fox news and was kinda freaked out....It seems no major damage or injuries thus far so I guess that is a good thing.....

Crazy! It's nice to know that their were only minor injuries. Where's Eli Stone when you need him? :)

Ok, so you are in Central time, right? I ask thsi because my dog sleeps ALL night. She never gets up. But at 4:30 she is suddenly by my side and licking my hand. Scared the crap out of me. And then I get up and see the earthquake news and I'm wondering if she felt a little something? I'm in Michigan and some of the quake registered here, but of course we didn't FEEL anything. But a dog might, maybe?

same here - I'm in Indy too and my husband and I both woke up at 5:39 to shaking bed and rattling doors (about 20 seconds or so)...kinda scary. We turned to the a.m. news and they were breaking news of a possible earthquake....how crazy!

BEST.WORK.FRIDAY.EVER.

*lol*

So far this morning, we've had an earthquake, an aftershock, an OTR truck driver rally outside the statehouse across the street, AND the new a/c installed in the copy room so that everyone from the office keeps coming in to exclaim, 'Oh, it's so cold in here!'/'Oh, you're so lucky 'cause it's so hot out there!'/'Oh, you'll be getting a lot of visitors in here now!'

I talked to Shannon at 7:15ish this am, and she didn't mention any damage.... of course, I had no idea that there had been a quake then.. so I didn't ask either.......

It woke us up in St. Charles, MO. Very disorientating (but I managed to remember to stand in the door jam, lol)! I was at the gym during the aftershock, so I didn't feel it, but my mom said she did.

And Val, it occurred around 4:40 central time.

Glad to hear everyone is okay!

I'm further north and west of you Chicago/Indy girls and I didn't feel a thing. I'm probably too far away from the epicenter. I didn't even know a thing about this! I'm going to have to check out the news. How scary, but I'm glad everyone's okay!

I heard it was a 5.4 with the epicentre around southern Illinois at the Indiana border. I'm glad to hear everyone's okay and it doesn't seem like there was much damage.

I think she was being all cool fo' sure. Seems like there's lots of stories out there of dogs, and animals in general, knowing these things are imminent. I say, smart doggy!

I felt it. I was up having coffee, surprised the heck out of me. I live along the Ohio river near Cincy. It wasn't strong enough to awaken my dh, but I could definitely feel it.

I'm near Cincy, too (north) and I was too asleep to feel anything nor did either of our dogs wake us up. But a number of my co-workers said they felt it and/or heard it. My first knowledge was watching the Today Show.

wow! i didnt realize how many fellow Hoosiers there were in here! I'm in Kokomo and i didnt feel the initial one, but i was in the car later on at a stoplight on 31 and i felt my car wobble, and on the radio they said "we just felt another aftershock!" so that must have been what i felt!
