before you attempt to burn stuff to DVD (scrap kits, psd files - those kinds of things) - do a system backup!!

silly me didn't and am now missing a bunch of stuff. while I was transferring (i.e. - cutting and pasting - NEVER do that!), the computer completely froze, nothing would do anything anyhow, ended up having to reboot and everything that I was attempting to burn is gone.

thankfully the kit stuff wasn't super important (ADSR stuff, thankfully I still have the SSD one! heheee), but I can't find the psd files anymore. I did a restore, from the 22nd, no psd files were restored though. UGH!

Oh that sucks! Hopefully you are able to recover some of it somehow!

Wow, sorry to hear that. I use Carbonite, and it gives me so much peace of mind.

Oh no Sonja! So sorry to hear that. I also use carbonite, and more than once I have restored a file I accidentally deleted, and didn't realize it until I had already emptied the recycling bin too.

check you recycle bin - if you were doing the cut & paste they might have ended up there

Oh Sonja, I'm so sorry! I have the worst luck burning to DVD, something always goes wrong. I hope you can find the stuff hiding somewhere!

I am so sorry Sonja! I have had that happen a time or two so now when i use DVDs, I copy, not cut, and then I burn the DVD and then triple check the actual DVD and make sure it works before I delete anything, but then again I usually back up to EHD *AND* DVD cause I'm just that paranoid :(
