I was getting ready to upload a few photos to Tinypic and this photo at the bottom caught my eye.

So heartbreaking. I can't imagine being away from my girls. Being a military wife, I have a hard enough time when my DH is gone trying to imagine how much he misses our kids. But this is just so heartwrenching.
Ugh...gotta go find something to help turn this faucet of tears off.:(

begs the question....is she coming or going? Makes a big difference. She is either really really happy or really really sad. I'm too hormonal and I let everything get to me :p so I'm going to assume for my sanity that she has just gotten home, that she wasn't gone long, that her kids didn't change one bit, and all those sunshiney thoughts :) What an amazingly powerful photo!

Wow- that's a powerful photo. Heart-wrenching. I immediately thought it was a homecoming photo, not a saying good-bye....but good point, Lena! :) I really hope she's home to stay!

wow wow wow.

i too want to believe its a homecoming photo. her boots look worn - hopefully that means she is coming home? would she wear new boots if going? say yes!

Wow! Thanks for sharing that!!! Incredible photo.

I hope she is coming home. I bet if she were leaving she would be trying to be strong for her girlie.

DH (an ex-marine) said she's coming home. It looks like a civilian airport, they take off from a base plane. Also if she was leaving, she'd have her weapons on her. Powerful indeed!

I agree with scrappychic...coming home they look a little less 'battleeady.' DH was in Iraq last year and his homecoming was in an airport. My kids made posters...I'm crying now...it was a great homecoming!

You know deployments now are 15 months (not that long for us, thank goodness)...that's hard enough for families and being without Dad...but I can't even imagine being a Mom and leaving my kids for anything close to that!

wow... really reminds you that there is a war going on which we can easily forget at times when we go about our daily lives. i don't have anyone in my life that is in the military so i don't have a constant reminder... but this will help to remind me of it all!! thanks for posting this powerful photo!

I've seen way to many goodbyes. It is so very sad.

I'm thinking this is definitely a homecoming photo..they are clutching each other like they haven't seen each other in many moons.

(at least that's what I'm telling myself so I can handle it better).

I know its already been said, but I would agree on it being a homecoming pic. I didnt meet my DH at an airport when they came back, but a lot do come back that way.
